Draymond Green suspended for Game 5Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green is suspended for Monday night's Game 5 after he was assessed a flagrant foul 1 by the NBA for his actions in Game 4.
The play in question came with less than three minutes left in Golden State's 108-97, Game 4 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers when Green and LeBron James got tangled. James stepped over Green after the Warriors forward fell to the court, and Green swung his arm and appeared to make contact with James' groin area. James immediately turned around, and the two players went chest-to-chest as play continued.
Information from ESPN senior writer Brian Windhorst contributed to this report.

https://streamable.com/p8vgI dont know how you suspend for that groin shot, but dont for the Steven Adams shenanigans....

Amen to that.
It felt like the league just wanted to the Warriors back in the finals and now (like last year) there gonna give LeBron every chance to pull this one back.

Inconsistent suspension for sure. What he did against the Thunder I thought was worse too. Too bad LBJ doesn't have Wade & cos to have his back no more.

As a Thunder fan I feel quite disapointed. A barely hand-touch is worse than a completly balls-destroying kick? NBA just wanted Warriors in the Finals and now they want to see if they can make the Finals longer.
Merchandising and business have gone over basketball.

This is ONE BIG joke NBA. For thaaaaaaaat?! buahaaahhaha
No personal foul during the game, no technical during the game, flagrant after the game and suspension after the game, you did great job to help Cavs win next game.

like i said last time. he was not suspended when they were down 3-1 but now that they are up 3-1 its ok to suspend him. hell suspending him probably make the series last longer which = more money. the nba is turning into a fucking joke

If it makes anyone feel better, he is obviously banned from the building and won't be able to celebrate the title unless he intentionally takes a $140,000 fine and shows up anyways

I don't disagree with the suspension per se, but it looks weak compared to the incident that didn't get him suspended. The inconsistency and the difference in the situations doesn't make the league look good.

Dellavedova hitting Iggy's nuts unintentionally=no flagrant. Green naturally reacting to being stepped over and unintentionally hitting LeBron's nuts=flagrant. What inconsistent ruling this is. I really hope the Warriors win tomorrow just to prove a point.

Just to note: He's not being suspended for the particular shot on LeBron. He's being suspended because he went over the flagrant limit for the playoffs which is an automatic one-game suspension.

League has already said he'll be allowed in if the Warriors win.
Also the fine would only be $500.

That is something that's being overlooked, though I'm guessing some people are also suggesting that it isn't right that his foul is being upgraded to a flagrant, thereby invoking that rule.
Personally, I find it hard to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point.

And there are talks about him getting Finals MVP (should the GSW win the series). I wouldn't award him the award just because of the dirty plays.

I don't get this.
When Draymond wasn't suspended during the Thunder series, people were saying that the league is helping them.
But when Green got his long-awaited suspension, the league is now helping the Cavs.

It'll definitely be awkward if he's awarded the MVP, but doesn't play in the title-clinching game. I have a feeling it'll end up going to Curry, though as I said in the main Finals thread, I think it'll be one of the weaker Finals MVP performances if he does get it. As much as I don't care for him or his antics, I would give Green the nod as the Finals MVP at this juncture.

NBA want more games in series.

With the suspension, they should disqualify him from even being an mvp candidate.

I think the problem people are having with it is that the league is playing God a little by stepping in to pre long series when the other team seems dead and buried but I guess this is a business and more games means more money.

the warriors were down 3-1 and did not suspend him when they should have
the warriors are up 3-1 and now they can afford to suspend him as it wont cost the warriors the series. also it has the benefit of potentially making the finals last longer
when he was not suspended against the thunder i said if they were up or if it was the regular season he would have been suspended. this goes to show that the league is not consistent and takes a players worth into consideration when handing out suspensions. who a player is or what they mean to their team should never be in consideration at all.

Of course, it's nothing new. Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller once got into a scuffle, which resulted in Reggie being ejected whereas MJ wasn't. Afterwards, MJ got suspended for two games, whereas Miller received no suspension at all. Perhaps the latter inconsistency was making up for the first, but at the end of the day, they both should've received the same penalty in terms of the initial ruling on the court, and any subsequent fines and suspensions.

yeah if andrew bogut did that kick to adams he would of been suspended for sure. no doubt about it at all
