I had apparently not saved the 1995 Western Rosters, so I fixed those, and updated the roster configurations/starters last night. I can release a quick update for that later today.

Those jerseys, I absolutely need to point out, are the work of none other than Tha King, who I believe is still patching in 2K14/2K15. Unmatched quality.

So I finished the tendencies for the 2016 teams, and paired it with the modded tunedata.iff file that is hot in the streets right now, and it's just insanity. An absolute blast. Should be updated for release within the next week or so; hopefully sooner.

if you remember, i did a UBR NBA Jam extension last year. the main feature of it was the gameplay sliders designed for as close to NBA Jam gameplay as i felt i could get. if you want to, feel free to check them out (just download the full mod and trash the rest. its pretty much just a roster file and the sliders) and tweak and re-release as the sliders for this or as an alternative sliders option.

So, if I were to include each NBA team for 2016, what 6 guys would you each go with for each team? Keep in mind huge dunkers, 3-PT specialists, etc. can be a lot more fun to play with in an Arcade Mode than 'better' players, sometimes. I think I'd like to add the NBA teams, at least little by little, and release.
So, hit me with the starting 5 + 1 you'd go with for each squad, whether they're true to life or not.

Bulls
C: Joakim Noah
F: Pau Gasol
F: Mike Dunleavy (for three-point shooting)
G: Jimmy Butler
G: Derrick Rose
6th: Bobby Portis (for dunking)

Lakers:
C: Randle (I mean, would somebody really pick Hibbert?)
PF: Nance Jr.
SF: Bryant (Give me this one)
SG: Clarkson
PG: Russell
6th: Williams
Mon Mar 07, 2016 11:31 am
Kobe is on every single Western All-Star team in the mod, basically. What's one more team?
Mon Mar 07, 2016 7:50 pm
imo you should create All Time NBA JAM, not current season. I mean where is fun in playin guys like Clarkson, Noah or if we take a look at philly it looks really bad. In my opinion you should use urb rosters and create ALL TIME NBA JAM. So for chicago it could be:
PG. Rose
SG. Jordan
SF. Butler
PF. Pippen
C. Rodman
6th. Grant/Brand/Kerr(3pt)
and for mentioned Lakers
PG. Magic
SG. Jones
SF. Bryant
PF. Worthy
C.O'Neal
6th. Abdul-Jabbar

That's an idea down the road for me sko. The only thing I hate is having different players from different eras wearing the same uniform. Just a matter of personal preference. I want to get all the regular teams in, since it's easy enough, but I definitely want suggestions from others, as Andrew and Kevin have given me for their particular teams.
Andrew, I went with Dougie Buckets instead of Dunleavy for 3s at SF.
Kevin, how do you not include Swaggy P? My thought is to ditch Nance Jr. (what does he bring to the table?), have Randle at PF, Hibbert at C, and Swaggy P as the 6th man. Russel, Clarkson, Kobe all seem pretty locked into those 3 spots.
So far I've completed the Bulls, and T'Wolves (Rubio, LaVine, Wiggins, Garnett, Towns, Dieng). Playing some practice games to see how things come out, and I'll continue adding teams.

Come to think of it, McBuckets is a much better option. Good call.

If you wanted to run with skoadam's idea at some point, I kind of like the idea of having the historic players on the bench, so that they're bonus/"unlockable" players, as in a lot of the NBA Jam games that had subs. Users would of course still be free to change the lineups if they wanted to get Legends into the starting lineup, but by default, you could have an active starting five and a sixth man, then one or two Legends on the bench as bonus players. That'd basically be a five-on-five take on what EA did with NBA Jam: On Fire Edition.
Anyway, just a thought!

I like this idea a lot, actually. Adding Legends to benches as Playable. I still hate having them in uniforms they 'shouldn't' be wearing, but that's certainly a cool idea.

Yeah, it's a shame you can't have them wear their era-specific jerseys. That's actually something else that OFE does, and it's definitely a nice touch.

hmm, maybe you should think about creating 2 seperate teams, current and retro (6players per team) like you did with All Star Team I and II. That way you could keep accurate jerseys, logo, courts, arena etc.
Tue Mar 08, 2016 8:35 pm
bigh0rt, because Nance Jr. is a solid dunker and Swaggy P makes the Lakers a three-point shooting team with the existence of Bryant, Russell, and Clarkson. Lou Williams OR Swaggy P for the 6th man. Would only include Hibbert if he can actually get more than 5 rebounds a game as a 7-2 C.

BETA 1.1 RELEASEInstallation Steps
Fully Install U R Basketball Mod
Fully Install NBA Jam 2K14: All-Star Edition (.iff files)
Fully Install NBA Jam 2K14: All-Star Edition Roster & SettingsAny and all feedback is always appreciatedSo, I added two 2014 FIBA Team USA squads, in addition to tuning up some of the player and team gear and colors, and some of the tendencies on the more recent All-Star teams. Also, I fully implemented the 2015-16 Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, and Minnesota Timberwolves. Added custom dunk packages, custom tendencies, custom Signature Skills, the whole shebang. Those teams play like the game ultimately should within this mod. Please test them out, report any bugs, let me know if any teams don't have crowd files, etc. I'm open to suggestions, feedback, rating adjustments; anything really. I'm still looking for suggestions on appropriate Arcade Starting 5s for many teams, along with some explanation (i.e., Zach LaVine starting for Minnesota because he's a Dunking freak). I'd like to get all teams added, clean up all the All-Star teams I've already added, and add the remaining All-Star teams. It's a process, to do it correctly, so I'll just keep doing a few teams at a time and go from there.
Enjoy.

Awesome.
Wed Mar 09, 2016 9:06 pm
Next team in will be the Utah Jazz:
Gordon Hayward
Rodney Hood
Trey Lyles
Derrick Favors
Rudy Gobert
Trey Burke
Wed Mar 09, 2016 10:24 pm
After them, the Charlotte Hornets:
Jeremy Lin
Kemba Walker
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Marvin Williams
Al Jefferson
Nick Batum (Frank Kaminsky?)
Figured I'd go Batum so people can bench Lin and go Kemba at PG, as they do in real life, but part of me wants to have Frank the Tank in. Thoughts? Aside from being a big man who can hit some 3s, is there any reason I should put him in?
Thu Mar 10, 2016 3:33 am
I Think Lin Should Start At The 2
And Bench Williams and put Frank at PF
Thu Mar 10, 2016 3:55 am
Williams gone completely, or put him on the bench and remove Batum?
Thu Mar 10, 2016 4:01 am
Gone Completely.
Thu Mar 10, 2016 4:48 am
Sounds good to me. Don't know why I didn't think of that first. If you have suggestions for other teams, please let me know.
