The thread is back! The 76ers are terrible again.

When do you think they will get their first win?

Next 10...

Sixers want to lock up that number 1 pick early this year !

Poll number 2: When will Warriors lose?
If I was Sixers GM, I would chase for Durant and other big names next off-season. If they don't do that, they're doomed.

At least 2 months

I think they'll fall just short of the record for worst start, so around the sixteenth or seventeenth game of the season.

I'll go ahead and say within the next 3 games, getting the win over Dallas.

Within the next 5 is a decent bet too, I could see them beating Indiana and/or Charlotte also.

I voted for 7 games. I have a feeling win's gonna come against either Heat or Wolves.

I watched a little bit of the Spurs vs Sixers game and you just get the feel that they are not even trying to win, only Okafor was putting in full effort like he's going for ROY and the last Sixer to do that.... They traded !!

Then you weren't paying any attention or you're confusing lack of skill with lack of effort. Which, even then, would be odd after the Spurs game. After a rough start, Philly managed to hang around the whole time until the 3rd quarter when San Antonio went on a run and entered the 4th with a 16-point lead... except the Sixers didn't give up, hustled their way back and cut the lead to just 4 at one point. Their hopes of pulling out the upset were ultimately dashed by poor execution down the stretch, not by lack of trying. But since you watched the game, I shouldn't need to tell you all this, right?

A big reason for why they're still winless would be because almost half of their roster has been hurt. All this time Philly has been playing without Covington (supposed to return today vs DAL), Wroten, Marshall, Landry, and - of course - Embiid. Currently, Holmes is hurt as well which makes undrafted rookie Christian Wood the only backup bigman.

Stauskas is making me sick with bricking open shot after open shot. Noel is struggling, he's only beginning to get used to playing PF. Okafor is already a really good post scorer, but has a long way to go on the defensive end. Grant has improved from last season. McConnell is exceeding expectations. Canaan just sucks.

Honestly, the only thing that worries me right now is that the defense has predictably regressed with the insertion of Okafor and moving Noel further away from the rim, which diminishes his impact. Hopefully they figure it out as the season goes on. The offensive problems are mostly incompetent guards and not enough outside shooting, with the guy who's supposed to be our best shooter (in Covington's absence) looking like he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat in the middle of an ocean. And the starting lineup being two rookies and three sophmores probably isn't helping.

i think some people get the vibe that they aren't even trying because they just can't believe they can't be this fucking bad. I am sure the players are embarrassed and eager to get that first W though.

That said, they lost to the Mavericks tonight. airBurlen, sorry but you are out. Next up IND and CHA. We have two voters on that.

Re: When will 76ers win their first game?

Caught a bit of the fourth quarter of the Mavericks game during halftime of Bulls/Pacers. The effort and energy definitely seemed to be there, they weren't indifferent or trying to lose. There's talent and potential there, but right now, there's more of the latter than the former. Without developed talent and veteran poise, winnable games will slip through their fingers, and tough opponents are not going to leave the door open for a lot of upsets.

Re: When will 76ers win their first game?

I mean the management are not even trying to win games not the players, just look at the players they have playing major minutes for them the last few seasons.

They have had players that showed promise and just traded them away or even waived them.

Re: When will 76ers win their first game?

Tue Nov 17, 2015 9:34 pm

I don't think they'll keep trading away players who show promise; at least, not all of them. I mean, the whole idea of weathering these bad seasons is to assemble a young team of talented players, not be perpetually bad. It was a bit surprising when they traded MCW, but it's not like he was clearly The Next Big Thing, either.

Re: When will 76ers win their first game?

MCW....

KD McDanaiels looked like a promising player, they traded Jason Thompson for yet more cap space.

Sure there plenty more

Re: When will 76ers win their first game?

Wed Nov 18, 2015 9:00 am

Thompson's been in the league for seven plus years now. He's solid, but it doesn't look like he'll be a superstar or a building block for anyone. McDaniels maybe has more potential, but he's not a great shooter/efficient scorer and isn't cracking the rotation in Houston. It's not like they've traded away a young LeBron James or anything like that.
