Re: Lamar Odom "fighting for his life"

Can't show how joyful that he is making progress after what looked like he was a goner!

I think he needs to put better people around him than he has now and really work on himself in rehab.

He has a long way to go but I think he has so much support and people routing for him!

That's epic. The odds were seriously against him. Great to hear

Up and walking with assistance. After looking so bleak, it's definitely looking promising.

This has all been such a stupid media circus. When a normal person overdoses in a brothel... they're scum. When a celebrity does it they're some kind of hero and fighter. Odom has some sweet game, but how much respect or admiration can you have for him as a human being?

Funny, because I look at that sentence and see the first thing as a problem, not the second.

I don't think anyone actually admires him for what happened. I think they feel sympathetic, and somewhat invested in his well-being because of their admiration of his skill and accomplishments as an athlete, not because of the self-destructive decisions he's made.

The only "hero" lamar has being is a fallen one and someone that people are routing for to turn there live around.

Odom survived a Kardashian, that's good enough for me. Give that man a statue.

Knowing Odom's backstory makes me feel sympathy for him. He's obviously one troubled guy with a lot of pain, who has experienced a shitload of tragedy in his life, for which he self-medicates from in order to escape, but has a reasonable amount of integrity and good will.
He's not a hero. I just feel for him. And should too Pavel, don't deny et ;)

Lamar Odom 'Not Doing Great,' Sometimes Forgets His Own Name, Source Says

Lamar Odom's road to recovery is definitely going to be a long one.

Although Khloe Kardashian said last month that the 36-year-old former NBA star could be "mentally fully recovered" in a year and a half, a source close to Lamar tells ET that, currently, he's far from looking like his old self.

"He's not doing great," the source says. "His speech is still slurred and he can barely walk on his own yet. He forgets a lot of people's names -- sometimes even his own. He definitely has some memory loss."

Unfortunate, but not too surprising given he reportedly suffered a few strokes during the whole ordeal. I really hope they don't turn the whole thing into another reality show; that would be beyond tasteless.
