So is the game really that bad?

Sat Sep 26, 2015 1:49 am

It has mostly negative reviews on steam and people are raging. I was intending on buying it, but as I look at it its not worth the money if its in alpha state. What are your toughts?

Have it on ps4 and the game is Alright. Was very hyped for it this year and quite disappointed. I do feel like the gameplay is better than 2k15 but still not great. I am a big Myleague/Mygm player and feel like it is much improved so i guess its worth it for me.

Seems like most negative reviews are about missing keyboard optimization.

The game is incredible to me so far.... I am not familiar with what the complaints are here though.

How people are still playing sports games on keyboards in 2015 is beyond me.

It is so far to me an improvement over 2k15. Still haven't played enough to say it's great or terrible. Anyone who says so is just giving a knee jerk reaction with little to not enough insight

News flash people.

People hype up the games on there own head so much that the games can't live upto so I expect bad reviews on day one as it happens every year but that doesn't mean the game is bad at all just that it was over hyped.

I'm actually liking 2k16. I didn't like 2k15 at all, played a little in the beginning, haven't touched it in like 9-10 months.

To start off, 2k16 is much improved visually. The game isn't flat like 2k15 is, in game player lighting and sweat effects have been improved for the better, and every court has been updated.

I have just been messing around comparing screen shots in quick game, but the game feels tighter, the players don't get carried as far when you move around, and defense is improved. Pulling skill moves isn't as quick as I'd like it though, has more of an NBA Live feel in terms of responsiveness when it comes to the right stick. It's most noticeable when you try to string together a couple of moves.

Also seems shots don't fall as often as they used to. But again, I haven't played 2k15 in almost a year so I could just not be remembering correctly.

MyTeam leaves a lot to be desired. Just overall menu navigation, lineup setting and packs to name a few things are almost primitive compared to FIFA Ultimate team which I play a ton of.

Overall, I'm impressed with 2k16, especially with the visuals.

gameplay is amazing, a great sim, much better off the bat than I remeber 2k15 being.

just performance problems, visual glitches, etc. seems to be rife with them.

NBA 2k16 is a huge letdown, it very laggy and i'm running this game on my ASUS GTX titan x GPU card at 5k resolution with my dell monitor max out. I had turn the resolution down to 4k and it so laggy and has glitches in it.

I had zero problems with nba 2k15 with all setting max out with both 4k or 5k resolution on my dell monitor.

I can honestly say that 2k15 is the better game.

Most of them complain about keyboard compatibility. Meanwhile 2K16 clearly has dual analog gamepad listed in minimum requirements.

2K16 is a great game so far. People complaining about stuttering need to calm down. You're all so quick to write off the game before a single patch has been put out.

I can't believe I'm saying this but... this game is so overhyped. (Mainly MyCareer)
MyCareer forces you into this stupid storyline in the beginning for like 20 games and then boots you into NBA 2K14 last gen MyCareer.

What the actual fuck has Spike Lee been doing this past year!

TBM, dont they have the right too? if people do say they have issues with the game i could see their frustration why should i pay money for something i cannot enjoy when i first get the game.It kinda feels that im buying a incomplete game you know?

Game is huge (Y) got it early on PC/Steam.....play on low settings on my Quad i7 + 640M

Some nice stuff I saw:

PRO:
- Rim Ball Physics is insane
- Got some huuuge blocks and some spectacular Dunks
- I love the pace / speed of the game
- Rim Sounds are almoust new....still some old SFX 2K need to remove
- Animations are stellar
- Defense Matters and you can protect paint

CONS:
- Net Physics is bad not updated IMHO
- Main Menù / Intro was great on 2k15.....I personally don't like them in 2k16

QUESTIONS:
- I heard that player intro (with arena announce) for both teams are in 2k16 did someone saw them?
- I play on low settings so maybe this is the couse....why so much light in playing at Staples Center or MSG? Do I have to play in Highest settings?
- Sometimes play by play is stopped...it did happen at the end of the 4th period is this a bug
