And while 2K14 was basically disappointing on PC, 2K15 was huge step up. Nothing is perfect, but at least I didn't encounter too many technical issues.

A lot of these kids just dislike 2K15 because they have a cheap PC that can't run it, so they have to justify to themselves that 2K14 is the best game.

Not much modding can be done for 2K15 and afterwards too.

This is obvious, all we have to do is visit very pooooor 2k15 release thread to check how bad it looks, but i dont want to mention about this because its not devs fault right? in current situation there is no way to not buy next and next game from 2k. There is no way to mod this game for future seasons, so kids will have to buy new game to play current season.

I don't want to get drawn into this.

PC requirements for 2K15/16 are pretty clear. Nobody can expect it to run on weaker machine.

Modding on new games can always be problematic. You don't have to buy new things - you can keep playing 2K14 or keep 2K15 and try to create tools and mods for it. 2K15 has player creator and roster editor.

When we back with memories to 2k9 we will understand how different modding situation was and it was next gen game for pc,right? In 2k10 almost everything was possible to change. Please are you talking about player creator without opportunity to assign new cf. Roster editor without opportunity to assign new court and leave old one. Logos, portraits. Default 2k in game editors are toys not tools. I will try 2k16, sold 2k15 few months ago, i see some chance in modding there but im affraid it will be limited to one game mode. I dont see Vlad type of person around and big files is not helping.

It's been done before, but not always in basketball games, and not always well.

The problem is not that there is a hot/cold feature, which, yeah, was implemented in many sports games and at least past 2 NBA 2K titles. What Smoove and others talk about is this new "every game is its own story" system, which randomly picks a few players who START a game cold/hot so you always have to search for different players and won't always rely on one superstar. In theory it sounds great. In practice, it's not that great: for Smoove, Ty Lawson started game cold and he felt a bit cheated because he didn't do anything to make him cold, like miss a few shots or sth, it was just random. Also, he had an instance where either five of his bench players or his five starters (can't really remember) started off cold, and it just messed the flow of his game and punished him for something he didn't do. I don't really understand this feature, there were enough instances in 2K15 where you felt cheated on, like all your shots suddenly missing and CPU's shots falling even when they are well defended, dunno why we needed another thing like that..

I do understand the concern, and how it could be a problem. Like everything else though, I won't write it off until I've tried it for myself.
