Game looks great, obviously. Player movement, AI, and physics all sound great, too. I certainly hope the gameplay feels as good on the sticks as they say, too.

Three different pass buttons though? I mean, I guess I'll see how it works out, but that does sound like overkill. A modifier trigger, or methods such as double-tapping and holding seem more intuitive to me, but I won't pass judgement until I've tried it for myself.

Or you can just play as Kobe...

Other than that - collisions seems to actually be collision now. Previously there was air gap between players, but if it's physics based this year, the air gap could be gone completely.

Foot planting seems cool, I want to see that in action of course.

I wonder if upcoming xbox elite controller's extra buttons will get their own scheme.

For those wondering:

New passing controls:
A/CROSS = Best Pass (gives you the best pass for the situation you’re in)
B/CIRCLE = Tap for Bounce Pass, Double Tap for Flashy Pass, Hold for dribble pitch/handoff (hold to bring the selected receiver toward the ball, release to pass or handoff if close enough)
Y/TRIANGLE = Tap for Lob/Overhead Pass, Double Tap for Alley-Oop, Hold for Lead to Basket pass (hold to make the receiver cut toward the hoop, release to pass… awesome addition!)

So people still can use only A/CROSS button as previously.

IIRC they said that post game will be overhauled with lots of new animations, so there might be more to it.

From the gameplay blog - viewtopic.php?f=163&t=99549

New Post Game! Post has been rebuilt from the ground up and is better than ever. We’ve moved post back to a hold of L2/LT to give you quicker access, free your right thumb up for other actions, and to better mirror defensive movement. There are hundreds of new animations, better freedom of movement, lots of new moves and collisions, a new post cutoff system, and just a better overall feel to the play in the paint.

... So there was more to it.

I hope I can do the spin toward the baseline off the post again, it was almost impossible in 2k15. In real basketball is one of the best moves because the double team can't reach you in time. After the spin, you already got past your man and you are under the basket without any help defender most of the time. But obviously, it's not an unstoppable move. For every move you need to have a counter, this one is no different, because the defender can just protect the baseline, so if they protect the baseline too much to avoid the spin, you can make him pay with a jump hook, up and under, post fadeway, or whatever you want. Can't wait to try the post moves in this game, especially with Jahlil

Makes sense, though I still feel that three pass buttons is overkill. I felt the same way when NBA Live tried going to three shot buttons: having dunk/layup and shoot was alright, but it was overkill to go dunk, shoot, and layup in NBA Live 07.

I feel like the first week of playing 2K16, I'd just be memorizing the controls

Another move I miss doing is the Eurostep. I have problems hitting diagonal directions with the right stick, so I never try to do it in-game, hope they changed it as well

That's where the three passing buttons is a problematic approach. It'd be very handy to have pro-hops on one of the face buttons.

Cannot agree more

And I use "Absolute" on the right stick (I play on TV broadcast), so it make things easier to do the moves you want on the right stick. Imagine how hard it is to do the Eurostep on Default settings (TV broadcast and Camera relative on the right stick)

Game looks awesome, 2k know how to show good aspects and hide bad ones of their products, so i want to see gameplay cpu vs cpu, it will be first step to decide, buy or not.

Same here. I feel Absolute should be the default, as it's more intuitive in my opinion.

I like the sound of changing game plans, situational awareness, coach styles, team styles. But show us, don't tell us.

They've already released over an hour of 5v5 gameplay and showed specific improvements in videos in the developer blogs. What are you talking about?
