Talk about NBA 2K16 here.

Leftos strikes again!

I was awfully close.

As I mentioned in NBA Talk, seems only appropriate that
this story about Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace was shared today.
“I would egg on referees to give Rasheed a technical. Because until he got a tech, he was one of the most unfocused players I ever played with. But once he got a technical, I don’t care what coach he’s playin for, I’m sayin, throw it to ‘Sheed. Ain’t no more play calls.”

I didn't even know. Gosh, I've been so occupied that this found me genuinely surprised and excited. The 04 Pistons are the team that got me back into basketball gaming, where this all started. I'm genuinely excited to use them. Not so much in an offline franchise mode, but I'd be definitely interested in seeing how they would fare against friends and foes online.

WoW, my favorite team ever.

Applause.
I have thinking to buy Live 16 only, but, if Bad Boys will in 2K16... It makes my choice harder.

A clash of Bulls and Pistons championship squads is inevitable.

Insanely excited to have a version of T-Mac back in the game. Especially in his Rockets-days...
Would it be too much to ask for them to completely re-create his jumper? It hasn't really looked accurate in years.

WTF, 12-13 Heat?

Too early?
Fri Aug 28, 2015 5:28 am
no team that is 3 years old is a classic team. Which make me worried if there going this route of having not that old teams that are full of still currently active players. Almost the whole 12-13 team is still in league or in the free agent pool. Same goes for the 07-08 Celtics only players that come to mind that retired are sam cassell and pj brown. Sam in the game already and current day assit coach so they have his rights. Will pj brown be there ?
I am worried they are trying to have classic teams as long its cheap for them. Or giving younger players more current "classic teams". A retro or classic team should be pre or early 2000 IMO
Fri Aug 28, 2015 5:36 am
I don't mind the choice.

I don't mind it either, but I just think it is too early to name 3 year old team classic.
Fri Aug 28, 2015 5:45 am
Why would you not want the best Miami Heat team to ever assemble.
66-16, they should go down as a classic team. Not to mention a LeBron playing for the Heat. Twitter Reactions are pretty hype... so it looks like you're the only ones.
Fri Aug 28, 2015 5:49 am
I can't remember seeing the word "classic". They just name those teams "retro". Yes, I always thought retro = classic but it seems that 2k sports understands something else. If you had the chance to play WWE 2k15, there is a "retro" version of CM Punk from '12-'13 and the only things that were different in '12-'13 were his hair and his entrance theme. So I think 2k sports are using this term to define team or athlete versions which no longer exist, even though they did 3 or 2 years ago.
Fri Aug 28, 2015 9:25 am
It is kind of soon, but technically they are an historical team at this point. I don't mind having some recent teams of note in there along with the older ones, to shake things up a little. It's not like they've gotten rid of all the old teams to make way for a bunch of teams from a couple of years ago.

In the stream last tuesday Ronnie2K said it was going to be one of the best offensive teams in the past 15 years. I was like, it's gotta be the Spurs right? So many championships since then, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014. It turned out to be the opposite

D'Antoni Suns would be fun to play with. Amare, Diaw, QRich, Nash, Bell, etc.
Sat Aug 29, 2015 3:41 am
I hate this choice. Now I think they're gonna add another recent team like the 11 Mavs, 12 Thunder or 13 Pacers to make a good matchup with the Heat, then we have even less real retro teams. Now 4 teams left, if I could choose any team, It would be 93 Suns with Barkley, 00 Pacers with Reggie, 09 Cavs and 67 Sixers. But it will be 4 teams from the past 15 years, so I think they're gonna add 05 Suns, 03 Spurs, 12 Thunder and 07 Nets, simply because of licenses

My only wish is 92-93 Nets, Drazen's last season, before he died. I'd really like to see that team in game

...which are a pretty big deal, since they need to secure them in the first place. That depends on players being willing, and ready to accept the money on offer.

But adding teams solely for this reason is pointless. We already have the entire 13 Heat squad (Shane Batier will probably be on the 08 Rockets, Ray Allen will be on 08 Celtics and probably on the Free Agent Pool), and the uniform is still the same, so we don't need any 2K employee to make this team a reality, just someone to make a Custom roster with this team or do it ourselves. Don't need to waste a Roster Spot with this team. The only time on 2K15 that I thought it would be cool to play with the "Classic" Heat again, I just downloaded a Roster from the 13-14 Season and played against the Pacers. Every classic team needs to have at least 2 or 3 new licenses to add depth to the game. Take the 04 Pistons for example, we just had Tayshaun Prince to use on Custom rosters, now we have prime versions of Billups, Rasheed, Rip and Wallace, plus a prime Prince, so we just not only have a new team to play, we have new players to play in the game. The only good thing I can see about 13 Heat is to have a prime LeBron and an improved (but not in his prime) Wade, but last year we already had that copying the Onyx LeBron attributes into the Offline rosters
Sat Aug 29, 2015 11:50 am
The 2006 Heat would make more sense from that perspective. But again, budget is a factor, as is the willingness of players to accept the money on offer or even be interested in the first place. So they are limited in what they can do.
As far as adding more recent teams instead...well, there's always the debate of how more recent teams would fare against the great teams of yesteryear. This ensures there's a pre-made and presumably complete 2013 Heat team to take on Michael Jordan's Bulls, or Larry Bird's Celtics, or whomever. It's not like all of the new teams are from the past couple of years either, and when it comes down to it, this is all bonus content, a little something extra on top of the core experience.
Sat Aug 29, 2015 5:08 pm
I think we are both right in some aspects. It's difficult to argue about this, because I don't know if the 13 Heat are stealing a spot from 06 Heat or we would have lesser new teams without 13 Heat. This situation will be more clear in 2 weeks when all 12 teams will be revealed. About the Jordan's Bulls or Larry's Celtics, I always wanted an option to play with bigger uniforms. I never do those types of matches because it's weird to see one team with today's bigger uniforms playing against those teams with classic small uniforms

. Instead I just do a custom Roster putting the Legends in their most appropriate today's franchise
Thu Sep 03, 2015 6:27 am
05 Suns and 06 Heat announced. Now I think it's even more unecessary to add the 13 Heat, I didn't thought they would add duplicates of the same franchise in this new wave of Legend teams. Now 2 spots left and I think 03 Spurs will be one of them (We don't have any champion Spurs in the game). The other one, I don't have any idea between 09 Lakers, 07 Nets, 09 Cavs or 12 Thunder
Thu Sep 03, 2015 7:14 am
03 Spurs and 09 Lakers would both be great.
