Didn't bother counting them. At least you're keeping up.

Not too high on Upshaw. I don't think he's no Hassan Upside. He's highly unlikely to get many minutes this year. Just look at competition at his position. It'll take couple injuries before seeing some action. He's just a project for now.
PG: Russell
SG: Kobe
SF: Young (Trade Coming?)
PF: Randle
C: Hibbert
1st Off the bench: Bass, Lou, Clarkson
Fringe Rotaion: Tarik, Sacre, Ryan
Not too shabby though. The Lakers should be fun to watch as long as expectation is kept low to moderate. This season will be about celebration for Kobe and new era prospects/development.

Johnson sucks so much that I'm guessing no team would offer him more than the minimum

with young being shopped heavily though that leaves Lakers with only Anthony Brown at SF.

Play bass at the 4 and randle aka next Lamar Odom at the 3

Better that than Owen wilson's nose discussion

The Suns will sign Ronnie Price to a 1 year vet minimum deal. Scott's infatuation ends here. Good thing for the young fellows development.
Thu Jul 09, 2015 9:37 am
Probably just a roster filler.

Man. I really hated how Lin was put on the bench for Price last season. That to me was clear tanking at the cost of Lin's young career.

tanking is how I figured an NBA team would hire a coach with a losing record.
Thu Jul 09, 2015 8:13 pm
Lin goes to Buzz City. Another season full of tanking. yipee.
Thu Jul 09, 2015 11:01 pm
Would you rather he stick around and take minutes from Russell/Clarkson? I wasn't much of a Lin fan anyways, much too passive of a player for my liking.
Even if he stuck around he'd be unhappy with Byron's rotation, the Charlotte situation is good for him. Wish him well. I know Q will miss him.
This is also Bryon's last season as head coach, right? They have a team option after this season if I'm not mistaken? Do you guys think they should pick it up or look at other coaches after this season?
Thu Jul 09, 2015 11:04 pm
Nah, I'd rather go and see if Clarkson and Russell has what it takes to be a legit player in the NBA. Lin was actually good at times, though Scott pulls him out on some games so they can continue to tank.
I thought he still had a year after this season? But if it is his last season, no they shouldn't. Because of reasons.
Out of topic picture:

Could very well be he's got a year left after this one, I'm not sure. He's definitely a step up from D'Antoni though, that guy couldn't adapt to the players he had. Much disdain for him. Wonder what the future holds for them regarding coaches; you need one to have a clear direction and Scott isn't really the long term guy imo. But this team isn't going to be winning a championship any time soon either so I guess it's fine.
I'm bummed about the Butler signing, I wish he'd gambled and taken a year so he could be on the market next season sort of like what Monroe did. Good for him though, he deserved the security/cash.
Not overly bummed about Aldridge, it would have been nice but he's not the future. DJ would've been a nice get, defensive athletic C's are a rare commodity these days.
Did anyone really think they'd get Westbrook?
Cousins would have been an awesome get, even if it came at the expense of Russell.
But I'm on the bandwagon for Russell, hope he really pans out in Lakerland and is as flashy/good of a passer as I've been reading. Wonder if Nash will work with the fellows this year too.

Williams signed, Bass signed, traded a future 2nd round pick for a former all star defensive C. Today's been a good day. Tomorrow summer league!
Nance got some mad hops going off of the summer league practice video. Randle with the handle, no boxing out though. Upshaw trying his best to get up and down the court. Russell didn't show much. Clarkson looking good in that short video. Summer league should be fun!
Hill signed with Indiana, I liked him. Good energy off the bench and a pretty good offensive rebounder. He needs to work on his conditioning. He added a decent 16-18 foot jumper last season too. Hope he does well in Indiana.

I was hoping he'd sign with Dallas with deandre and win a championship but none of that happened lol
It's weird that he'd sign to be kemba's backup but I figure he'll get minutes at the 2 as hairston is like the only competition there. I just want him to play for a coach that believes in him like dantoni did. Fuck that racist McHale
I bet playing for Jordan was a draw too

I'm excited to see the summer league game as well. Watching the practice videos, it seems as if Upshaw has a strange running gait. I think that might be bad on his knees in the future. And in the interviews I am not thoroughly convinced he is over his personal issues. But then, Kobe did do well with artest/MWP/Panda Friend IDK what he is called now. But I am still holding out hope that Upshaw could be the real deal. It's been a few seasons since the Lakers had several legit 7 footers rotating at C.
Hibbert looks like his game might compliment the other players well. Let's see when the seasons gets going.

Pretty awesome summer league is free to stream today. Only for the US apparently but using a proxy/VPN should get you in too. Looking forward to first game!

It's on nba tv as well, which is where I'm watching this
Sat Jul 11, 2015 10:44 am
Wish the Netherlands provided us with NBAtv, I was in the States again in April/May and my tv was set on that channel.
Edit: Upshaw foul on KAT on one end, gets to the other end and gets the favor repaid. KAT looking good so far, Russell looks smooth. That dunk by Black on KAT, welcome to the NBA.

Edit 2: Nice offensive rebound + putback by Clarkson. It's good to be young.
Sat Jul 11, 2015 11:32 am
Lol they blacked it out on nba tv. They're showing it on the local Lakers channel.
I like what I'm seeing from Clarkson. A lot of it has to be from his playing experience this past season which has helped his development. Nice to see lavine working on his outside shot too
Damn, I'm waiting for the Lakers to play Will Davis II who played for my UC Irvine Anteaters
Sat Jul 11, 2015 11:56 am
Jordan Clarkson is easily the best player on the floor in this one. Not much of Randle to be seen though, conditioning probably?
Nance Jr. is an all hustle type guy, really digging him too.
Sat Jul 11, 2015 12:08 pm
Yeaaaaah Upshaw, do your defensive thing!
Edit: Yeah, I can see why KAT was the undisputed 1. He's got a nice shot, he's defensively solid, he surprised me with his passing/vision (helps being able to see over the defense) and he can make free throws. Most surprising was the passing for me, hadn't read much about that.
Randle has a real quick first step. He's got pretty good handles too but he sort of just gets blinders on and gets to the hole. That first step though.
Sat Jul 11, 2015 1:01 pm
Hats off to you guys. Net ballin a summer league game
Sat Jul 11, 2015 1:21 pm
You guys must be really hyped on that Robert Upshaw guy.
