ESPN sources say that the Celtics have agreed to send Gerald Wallace to the Warriors for David Lee
Gimme your thoughts Sauru. Good replacement for Bass I'd say.

Warriors made misstake. Celtic wins in this trade

I think the Warriors did okay, they needed to offload Lee's contract to avoid the tax I think. They'll probably use the stretch provision on Wallace's contract.
Edit: they're already in the tax but with this deal will pay less tax of course.

Sadly in todays league teams dont do trades on player value, its just a salary dump to save some in luxury tax.

So they have Sullinger, Olynyk, Amir, Lee, Zeller, Jerebko and Jordan Mickey playing the 4 & the 5...

They are looking to move Kelly or Sully now...

Ainge finally pulled one off. This move is a nice one. I don't see how it could hurt them unless they end up mortgaging their future on this guy.

i approve this message. i think he will be a great fit for the celtics and i expect him to give maximum effort so he can secure his next contract

Surprised to see the Warriors make that trade, but I guess even the defending champs have to make financially motivated moves.

David Lee and the GSW had a pre-existing agreement that at some point Lee was going to be traded to save cap space. I heard about this from a color commentator in one of the playoff games. Wallace is owed $10M while Lee is owed $15M. Both have a history of injuries. I think in some games in the finals it was Lee who kept the GSW championship hopes afloat. But a very poor trade indeed. The GSW save $5M maybe in tax and jump in to uncertainty whether Wallace will fit their roster. I think the GSW could have found better trade partners that would give back draft picks or just eat up Lee's entire salary.
