Source: DeAndre Jordan agrees to $80 million deal with MavericksLos Angeles Clippers free-agent center DeAndre Jordan plans to announce early Friday evening that he has agreed to sign a four-year, $80 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks, sources told Yahoo Sports.
Jordan has already informed Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and coach Rick Carlisle that he is joining Dallas, sources said.
The announcement is expected around 6 p.m. ET.
That softens the blow of losing Tyson Chandler. Meanwhile, Jordan left a lot of money on the table to leave the Clippers.

Kevin Arnovitz writes of the Clippers' attempts to re-sign DeAndre Jordan: "[Chris] Paul never called, never texted, never made any attempt to reach out to Jordan at any time during the process. At a certain point, the balance of affection tipped, and there weren’t enough dinners at Katsu-Ya or testimonials to Jordan about how much he’d flourished under Rivers’ development to keep Jordan in Los Angeles."

the mavs need a point and they might be interesting to watch. too bad rondo turned to trash for them

So the Mavs could get homecourt.
If Jordan replicates his year, don't see them finishing outside top 4 in the West.

A bit strange that CP3 didn't help out with the pitch.

Not surprised by that since all of the reports tells that he's the reason why DJ wants out...

That still surprises me, as Paul doesn't really have a reputation for alienating teammates. Or, if there have been instances of that in the past, they've completely slipped my mind.
Sat Jul 04, 2015 1:06 pm
i can only imagine if this same team had the rondo the celtics had. they would of been fucking scary. still i like the moves they made this year but i they have to make a few more to be legit contenders
Sat Jul 04, 2015 4:34 pm
Comon son. Rondo's behaviour was unacceptable. The Mavs are just better without him DJ or not. That kid's almost uncoachable.
Looks like the Mavericks are the biggest winner of this offseason. They got rid of cancers like Rondo and Ellis then added possibly the best center in the league.
Sat Jul 04, 2015 8:14 pm
thats what i am saying, if they could of had the rondo the celtics got at the start during the championship run this team would be deadly but that rondo is long gone and not good for the team.
right now the focus has to be getting a solid point guard

Jeremy Lin, anyone? He can give DJ his lobs.

What I'm feeling right now

Good luck with the Hack-A-Jordan strategies in the playoffs.
Sat Jul 04, 2015 10:33 pm
A lot of teams out west are happy that he's done to the Mavs as they don't expect the Mavs to great and the Clippers will also take a dip too.
Sat Jul 04, 2015 10:57 pm
We're getting younger

Hope we keep Justin Anderson and develop him.
Mavs now have the 3 best 3rd option (in offense, atleast) in the league from a winning team. lol Wouldn't be surprised if Dirk still leads the team in scoring.
Is CP25 still overpaid after getting DJ and WessyWes? Not anymore. lol He's been busy despite the injury. Just hope he and Ironman can get healthy before the season begin.

Exactly. And again, another friend/former teammate of CP

He needs Holger full time. Should even follow him when he's in Germany lol

I guess this explains earlier season report that CP3 wasn't happy with DeAndre particularly being lazy ass in the practice and not practicing free throws enough.

If Jeremy Lin goes to the Mavericks, I think we can expect another playoffs year for ever lasting Dirk's successful career.
PG: Jeremy Lin
SG: ?
SF: Chandler Parsons
PF: Dirk Nowtzki
C: DeAndre Jordan
Looks like an auto drafted 2k team roster.

Wes Matthews
Mon Jul 06, 2015 11:36 pm
Oh yeah. Almost forgot about him.
Sign Lin, and the Mavs become one of my favorites teams despite my strong dislike for their owner.

Seriously? Hell no

The Warriors are still the favorite. They remained intact and their nucleus just reached their prime.

Spurs/OKC WCF I bet. GS is great but they lucked out with major injuries to the Thunder, Cavs and even the Rockets to a lesser extent.
