The Brooklyn Nets re-signed center Brook Lopez and forward Thaddeus Young, with both players agreeing to multiyear deals, reports ESPN.com’s Mike Mazzeo.
No financial terms were disclosed in the report, but a source of Mazzeo’s told him to “consider them done deals.”
Lopez has been expected to receive a three-year deal that could be worth $60 million, while Young could make upwards of $50 million on his contract. No new contracts can be signed until July 9 when the NBA’s moratorium is lifted. Both players opted out of the final year of their contracts and became unrestricted free agents.
The Nets made several moves in preparation for free agency, trading Mason Plumlee to the Portland Trail Blazers on draft night in exchange for the draft rights of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and veteran guard Steve Blake.
