Nobody wanted to pick up an injured player and he knew it was the only chance he can earn money.

Re: Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty [6-8] - Lakers trade Hill for.....

Tue Jun 16, 2015 10:02 pm

Lakers trade Hill and Davis to 76ers for Embiid and Porzingis.

Image

The Los Angeles Lakers announced after their victory over the Milwaukee Bucks that they are trading away Centers Jordan Hill and Ed Davis for sophomore Joel Embiid and rookie Kristaps Porzingis. In addition, the Lakers are also sending one of their 3 picks in this year’s draft to Philadelphia.

Hill averaged 9.2 pts, 4.2 rpg and 1.8 bpg in LA and Davis averaged 3.5 ppg, 2.2 rpg and 0.6 bpg in just under 10 minutes per game.

Embiid will take Hill’s place as the starter in Los Angeles.

The Lakers’ General Manager Kevin Parker Sr. cleared his intentions in the recent trade.

“We’re rebuilding, right? We have a vet in our team [Kobe Bryant] who’s still playing well and is mentoring the younger players. Those guys like Hill and Davis, we shouldn’t waste their time by letting them suffer with us; or making them take a back seat because our guys needed more minutes to develop their game. Those guys need to go somewhere where they can win.

Meanwhile, we’ll get Embiid and Porzingis. Both of them are full of potential. We have an offensive beast in Julius [Randle] and pairing him with Embiid would make things easier for us in defense.

Again, we shouldn’t expect that we will be contenders in just one season of rebuilding. It’ll take one or two more years so we can be a threat to the title.”

Re: Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty [6-8] - Lakers trade Hill for.........

Wed Jun 17, 2015 7:51 pm

It's unrealistic trades like this that prevent certain people like myself from getting into an association.

Good luck anyways.

Re: Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty [6-8] - Lakers trade Hill for.........

Thu Jun 18, 2015 12:16 am

Why is it unrealistic? I traded my 2nd best player, Ed Davis, and a 1st round pick (which has 3 stars, btw) for Embiid and a soon-to-be bust, Porzingis.

Re: Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty [6-8] - Lakers trade Hill for.........

Thu Jun 18, 2015 12:46 am

Because Embiid's potential is unreal, Porzingis could turn out to be very productive while Davis and Hill are role players for their career, at best.

Re: Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty [6-8] - Lakers trade Hill for.........

Thu Jun 18, 2015 12:57 am

Embiid's potential is 85 in my roster and I've only set Porzingis' minutes to 6. That guy's not going to be like Dirk anytime soon.

Green = Team Leader In...

Player Reviews:

Kobe Bryant

He's been a very good leader in our squad. Sure, his points per game isn't anywhere close to his 2005-2006 season where he averaged 30+ ppg but age is finally catching up on him. He tires easily than Embiid and Randle, which isn't good at all but it does give (Stanley) Johnson some playing time so he can develop his game too. His contract is also going to expire after this season and since the team's morale is sky high and he seems to enjoy his time in LA, I'm thinking oh giving him another contract extension for probably 1 or 2 more years. What really weirds me out is that Kobe's morale stays the same even though he's not getting any more than 30 minutes per game. I'm pretty sure I'll keep him in my roster until he decides to retire.

Nick Young

For the early part of the season, I tried to start Nick Young ahead of (Kelly) Oubre and it seemed to work out quite well. He shoots the ball very well, he can space the floor and he has a very quick shot release. What he does lack is defense. I just can't stay ahead against the opponent when I switch to him. Heck, I even tried to let the CPU control Nick Young and he still gets left behind pretty easy so changing the lineup really hurt his morale. I think he's actually going to opt-out this offseason but who knows.
