Here's hoping you know what you're doing, GarPax. Could've handled it in a much classier and professional way, but what's done is done. Fingers crossed.

Pretty well paid for a rookie coach but he has pretty of college and even front office experience plus off the back of Kerr's success teams are more willing to spend on new blood.

Won't be surprised if Royce White gets signed by the Bulls.

A few teams has shown interest in him, from what I have read he has being really working hard on his game and personal issues so whichever team takes a chance on him I'd like to see him get his shot in the league.

Maybe a reason to be optimistic.

I've heard Hoiberg coached teams play at a high pace, favor 3pt shooting. The Bulls roster does not fit the mold. Their best 3pt shooter is a free agent (MJD), the frontcourt is old and slow while teams want Rose to shoot 3pters.

Maybe this is Pax-Gar saying Niko and McDermott will be playing more minutes next year

Paxson should just be the coach. Seems like management wants total control, let them have it

Iowa St. played as fast as UNC last year, along with Arkansas those were the three fastest top seeds. BYU was the only 25+ win team who played at a faster pace. And it was only one more possession a game.

Iowa State was 69.7, BYU was 70.8, the national average was 64.7.

Virginia was the third slowest paced team in college basketball, just 58.4 possessions a game.

For whatever reason, Iowa State really cut down on the triples last season, they were a top 15 team in terms of jacking em in the three prior seasons. (No team in college basketball took or made more threes than Iowa State in 2012-13.)

As for White, the Kings apparently had a detailed discussion with him recently, but I bet there's a very high chance he'd sign with the Bulls if they asked because of Hoiberg. (He's known White since 2010 and was a factor in why he transferred to Iowa State instead of some place like Kentucky and was happy to let him play point forward.) If only to get his footing in the league.

I'm all for White getting his head where it needs to be, being happy with himself and in life, and getting a shot at the NBA. I'd also be fine if that shot is with anyone but the Bulls.

He seems like a Kings/Nuggets type of player. Maybe Phil could work some zen on him in NY. I'd like for him to "make it" in the league.

I read somewhere he said he didn't have a problem with flying.

Edit:

"I will be flying. I never said I wasn't going to fly." White flew regularly when with the Cyclones, and while at each professional stop.

Article mentions summer league invites from LAC & SA. SA would be the kind of place you expect him to turn it around if he's realistically got a shot to make it.

He got a pretty good winning record and everybody loves him in Iowa State so that's enough for me to be less worrisome at the moment... He's also a very good shooter and probably can help some of the players, specifically Rose and Noah, on their shooting mechanics to achieve better accuracy on their shots... Though some reports tell that his system will not be a Rose-friendly/centric one...

I'm in for White if he doesn't act like the retard he is last year... Don't want to add his drama to the salary cap situation they will have this year...

Not to be argumentative here but.... ;)
I say why not and have very low expectations. Maybe the Hoiberg connection could reel him in. Nothing more though than a non guaranteed contract or summer league invite

What is a Rose friendly system? I half joke but really. What is Rose's game now? Hoiberg has the challenge of getting Butler, Pau, and Rose enough shots

Non-guaranteed deal? Yeah, can't really argue against that, I guess. I definitely wouldn't have high expectations.

A system where the backup PG plays more games than the starting PG? Joking aside, perhaps what they meant was Hoiberg's system is not suitable or less effective with a PG as the main scoring threat...

Mods, can this get merged with the bulls thread?
What should the bulls offense be? Who is the alpha dog now?

I do not think butler, a non rehabbing rose, and Gasol had enough time together to get the chemistry down

Ive heard hoiberg offenses stress ball movement along with pace. I think maybe once this happened when the bulls had everyone healthy. Game 6 vs bucks
