Sorry 2KShiftLeader, I can't nuthug LeBron anymore.
My legit prediction is Warriors in 5 if the Cavs are still banged up. 6 or 7 if healthy. Outback Jesus takes out either one of Curry or Thompson late in the series.

The Warriors will take this 4-1 with either the AC turned off since California needs to conserve energy for the drought or Dellavedova be sacrificed to the gods for rain in the clincher...

After dodging a bullet with Stephen Curry, the Warriors
aren't going to be so lucky with Klay Thompson.
Warriors guard Klay Thompson diagnosed with concussion
The initial hit caused Klay Thompson plenty of pain. The final diagnosis delivered another blow to him and the Golden State Warriors as they prepare for the NBA Finals.
Two days after he got kneed in the head by Houston's Trevor Ariza, the Warriors said Friday that Thompson has a concussion and will not return to practice until he is symptom free.
The All-Star guard went through neurological tests that confirmed the concussion. He was injured in the fourth quarter of Golden State's 104-90 win over the Rockets in the Western Conference finals clincher Wednesday night.
The NBA Finals start Thursday against Cleveland. And while the Warriors are optimistic Thompson will be cleared before then, he must pass through the league's concussion protocol first.
Sounds like there's a chance he's cleared if the Warriors are optimistic, and "
no timetable for return" allows a team to be careful in describing a developing and unpredictable situation, but it never sounds good.

lol that was a bad attempt at a joke. We conserve water in a drought not energy

This is the most interested I have being in watching the nba finals in years and I am routing for the Warriors but I think it's gonna be a great match up never the less.
Part of me just doesn't want to see JR Smith and Shumpert get a ring after they both came to life after being traded from the knicks.

Klay has plenty of days to rest. The warriors will be fine.

I'm sorry to tell you this but this will be the least competitive series in recent era, unless you thought SAS vs CLE finals was hardcore.
I expect invisible LebYawn James to show up and bore the crowd. Curry got this in 5 games. Book it.

I do in fact expect this to be exciting yes, both have a good mix of offence and defence.
Two great point guards going at it, 2 clutch players, a few players that can get very hot quickly...
One thing I will miss though will be post play, it's one of the most basic elements of basketball and neither team has a post player in action

The forgotten man...
I'd love to have David Lee back in New York for another season or two

How was this missed at the time? I recall one of the commentators said there was no need to go through the concussion protocol for Thompson...why not? What triggers that? It doesn't seem to be doing its job.

I am guessing Klay stayed on the floor continuing the game at the time, thus not requiring concussion test.
Some random quote though.
Levels of Dirty in NBA (least to most):
1) NBA Floor
2) NBA Arena Toilet
3) James Harden's beard/face
4) Trevor Ariza

now i would like to say ariza is a shit bag for kneeing him in the head but honestly its klays own fault

Except a) he didn't and b) that seems like a pretty big loophole.
Sun May 31, 2015 6:34 am
It's the first time I have ever seen a 3 point shooter ran off the 3 point line with a knee to the head!
Not a dirty play though, purely accidental.
Sun May 31, 2015 6:45 am
I thought it was bit dirty. Ariza could have pulled back his knee instead he went ahead with the contact. Besides, if you go ahead by that logic, Bruce Bowen can be excused that it wasn't his fault to kick someone in the face.

Who knows it could be anything. My buddy got into a car accident and it wasn't until very later concussion symptom was showing up.
Personally I don't think this is anything serious to rant about. Probably a cautionary measure and possibly a tactical public stunt by Warriors. "out indefinitely" my ass, he's expected to ready for the game 1.
Sun May 31, 2015 7:08 am
klay clearly leaned into the knee. if players were not conditioned to jump into defenders this would not have happened

NovU wrote:I thought it was bit dirty. Ariza could have pulled back his knee
I doubt that.
I mean, clearly he's a dirty player, because he injured both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in consecutive games, so obviously there's a pattern and he's a terrible person.

Right, but the fact that he took a blow to the head that was sufficient to cause a concussion and he didn't even have to be
tested for a concussion indicates a problem with the criteria for needing to go through the protocol. Yeah, if he tests fine and then a concussion shows up later, there's not much you can do short of a 'blow to the head = automatic out for the game' rule, but that's not what happened.
Sun May 31, 2015 7:24 am
A dirty play is a dirty play. End of story.
What makes you guys think offensive player needs to be responsible for accident that happened within his rightful space as an offensive player. Klay and Wally both could have drove in straight ignoring a defender coming from blindside and it still would have been defender's fault for making a contact.
Sun May 31, 2015 8:17 am
the bowen play is clearly dirty and the ariza play is only dirty because his knee is lifted. the contact on the ariza play is caused entirely by klay trying to lean in and draw the foul
Sun May 31, 2015 10:41 am
I agree.
Kinda like this vid, Pierce entirely caused a contact to draw a foul. Otherwise a very splendid block.

So it was also Ariza's fault that Curry fell for his shot fake? Okay.

Is this the same person who defended Dellavedova even though he causes havoc on the court?
Sun May 31, 2015 12:45 pm
Perhaps symptoms presented themselves after the game, requiring further evaluation and ruling him out pending him passing those tests. Alternatively, and as was noted on commentary when Curry was running up and down in preparation to return to the court after his fall, players want to play and compete, and can't always be trusted to be 100% truthful about how they're feeling ("Sure doc, I'm fine"). Perhaps Thompson insisted he was fine, gutted it out, but was indeed suffering concussion symptoms which were then confirmed after the game.
Bottom line, he's suffering a concussion, and is questionable to return in time for Game 1. A huge blow for him, and the Warriors.

Warriors in 7

Curry facing against all the other members of the All-NBA 1st team is really an interesting fact.
