Are you sure you got a latest version? Also, try re exporting the files. 7zip is the only tool that won't complain by decompressing the files. If the issue persists, let me know of the iff and the file name, and i'll check this.

Read the readme file carefully :D the .mathnodes file is used like an indicator in order to locate the correct metadata.json file for the 1st LOD model. Nothing more (for now at least).

I followed the instructions, changing the lastline of the file with the ones you gave us. I still get an error :(

Yeah I got it to work. I kept trying and trying, so I redownloaded it and found my firewall was blocking it from doing anything. Sorry about that, amazing tool (Y)

Still got it. I was just trying to export the tool's files itself from the .Rar. "These files have an unsupported compression method." Anybody else have any suggestions?
Been on the thinnest of ice and I turned myself into Gretzky.

Hmmm it seems that there is an error with your metadata.json file. It's still malformed even after you applied the fix. I say that again, the only thing you need to do is to simply delete one opening "{" and one closing "}" brackets. So export this again, and try to do this again.

If you don't want to export, you can also simply select all the text from the text editor and copy it to a new text file ;)

First of all its a zip XD. And its still very weird :S Try exporting the zip again and try again, if you haven't done that already. Also tell me the archive and the file name to check it myself.

It's a "7zip" file for me. But I tried reexporting it, and downloading again. So I suppose I'm out of luck. Thanks anyway guys. (Y)

Question: If I was exporting shoes, would I haave to export every piece (ie, lining_occlusion#xyxyxyxyxyxy) and blend them together on a shoe model and UV map?

Is there any way to tell what shoe I'm exporting aside from the sight test?

Unfortunately no. Only thing would be to make an edit to it, import the edit, and then check in-game if the proper shoe was edited, and that way if it's the wrong shoe, you didn't waste your time editing the wrong one.

Since you seem to have shoe knowledge, is there any way to make the outsole and the logos stay white only while the rest of the shoe is RGB?

I spent 5 hours to fix metadata.json file, and have nothing!!! :evil: Im really tired. I cant fix that sh,t.... maybe somebody can help me? :cry:

Greg, your tutorial a bit empty about how I can save json file? in nba explorer I cant save json file, and cant open by click(like you said in readme), I should press text window, that information not in readme. I can fix json file, but cant save. I export json file with hihead_(random number)acc.mathnodes, delete "{" and "}" but it still not works, maybe I choose wrong head model? or any of 5 LODS model, should work with metadata.json? thanks

ok, i fix my problem.
I install Blender 2.72b, and copy nba2ktool to directory:
C:\Users\"Your User"\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.72\scripts\addons
Now models works:)

but I have other question: how I can import face with original color (original dds from archive have a problems like with autotone) ?
and in which archive I can found eyes textures and lashes??

i see we are able to import players chest and leg textures now without crash but skintones arent changing. does anybody know how to properly edit players skin color?
