It's back to a 5 point gap now with Chelsea drawing with Burnley. I wouldn't call it over just yet.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are starting to look a bit like the team of last season. 7 wins and 3 draws in their last 10 league matches, and only 1 loss in their last 17 in all competitions. A huge win at Southampton last night put the top four race wide open again.

Coutinho had a contender for goal of the season

One of the reasons Chelsea drew with Burnley. Two clear penalties not given and some cards not given. The red card was deserved, but I understand Matic's fury his career might have ended there if his leg snapped.

Yeah, because Chelsea is the only team that gets unfair treatment from the refs amirite?

No cards.

There's nothing wrong with the tackle on Matic, as Mourinho said so himself "Football is for men."

I'm not saying Chelsea gets unfair treatment from the refs. Martin Atkinson was really lousy with his refereeing of the match

Seems like terrible officiating has been the norm for the Prem this season, not a match week goes by that at least one game is terribly officiated.

English clubs having a hard time in European Competitions. Chelsea has the highest chance of all the English CL teams to advance.
That Lovren penalty though, makes Southampton look like geniuses.

Everton already advanced in Europa League with a 7 goal aggregate.

Liverpool just beat Man City and are now on an 11 game unbeaten streak in the league. Top four is right back on the agenda.

The little magician Coutinho scored another brilliant goal to win it :applaud:

PSG really deserved the win. Chelsea didn't take advantage of the improper sending off of Ibra.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Costa backed off and went to the ref when Ibra looked at him.

It was an equal match with 10 players each side since Cesc disappeared which is usual for him in the 2nd half of the season even with Arsenal and Barcelona.

13 games unbeaten for Liverpool now and it's starting to feel like last season again. This time I'd be happy with second place though

The way Man City are going it looks like there will be a fight for second spot now, not just third and fourth. Tottenham and Southampton are slipping a little bit.

Liverpool vs Man Utd will be huge next week. I'm glad it's at Anfield.

I would like to see Atletico win the CL after their dreams were crushed by Real Madrid last year, but I think Bayern will win it. As for the EL I would like to see Wolfsburg win.

The quarter finals have been drawn. A Madrid derby/re-match of last year's final, and Barca against PSG are two great match-ups.

You would expect Bayern and Juventus to win the other games. Unless Porto and Monaco decide to recreate the 2004 final :cheeky:

Paris St-Germain vs Barcelona
Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
Porto vs Bayern Munich
Juventus vs Monaco

Three eastern European teams still left in the Europa League. I'd like to see either Brugge or Napoli win it (Brugge because they have an Aussie goalkeeper and Napoli because Rafa Benitez manages them). I wouldn't mind seeing Wolfsburg win it if those two can't though.

Sevilla vs Zenit St Petersburg
Dnipro vs Club Brugge
Dynamo Kiev vs Fiorentina
Wolfsburg vs Napoli

Hopefully goal beast Torres will get his goals against Real like he did when Atletico defeated Real at the Copa del Rey.

Well, that sucked. No idea what the hell Gerrard was doing. Selfishly dumb thing to do and ruined any chance for Liverpool to get back into the game :shake:

That win was a big step towards fourth spot for Man Utd, although they still have games against Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal. It could still be a tight finish.

I just want United to be deprived of CL football again next season and laugh at all their expensive signings.

Thierry Henry played in the Anfield charity match yesterday. He still has a great touch. And also unsurprisingly Ryan Babel went on to miss the shot after that amazing pass

The top 3 in the premier league looks pretty much set now.

I'm just interested to see if Man City will continue to implode and allow Liverpool, Southampton or Spurs to overtake them and grab fourth spot.

Even if City do get fourth it's hard to see Pellegrini keeping his job. And half the team will probably be sold to freshen things up.

Jurgen Klopp is leaving Dortmund at the end of the season.

You would have to think he'd be top of Man City's list if they choose to replace Manuel Pellegrini next season.

Not unless Ancelotti becomes available if he is sacked by Real.
