He's doing just as we expected. He's a plug and play only when Wade is down which has been often. Even then, his game hasn't been anything to clamor about. He can go off kinda like Shabazz Muhammad on a good night otherwise quite on most nights.
He's a part of Heat's youth movement though. Fans are welcoming this youth movement in the rotation and want to see more of youth getting heavier role. However to my belief, this team has no solid foundation youth for the future. This team is entirely worthless without bunch of mid 30 players. End of Rome is very near and rebuilding will have to start. Too bad none of current youth will be much of a big deal when the time comes(maybe Napier but I doubt it).
For now, he seems to be in the rotation only when Wade is down.

"I could see where people would think that's an attractive site," Bosh told CBSSports.com, speaking of Houston, where half the NBA expected him to land back in July. "They were trying to win right away. And I was really happy to be touted that I possibly could've been out there. But you know, that doesn't guarantee anything, and I know that. All that guarantees is a bunch of pressure."
Bosh can't handle the pressure like LeBron, what a bunch of pussies.

And that Bosh went after MAX-MAX contract which only hometeam could offer. I am sure it was a factor while Wade got fucked with 10 mil loss. I hope Wade ditches this sorry ass team and joins Unibrow or Lillard.

So the Heat are playing the way the losers are supposed to play. Hassan Whiteside has crept up to be a valuable rotation guy with good chunk of minutes and corpse of Danny Granger is getting great role which resulted in pushing off Shawne Williams off the rotation completely.
I'm kinda disappointed with Deng. He was in a good position to redeem his subpar last season but he's further proving it was great choice for teams to bypass him.
Only bright spot for this team is still Wade with dead knees.

Hassan Whiteside!
Mon Jan 12, 2015 12:58 pm
Hassan Whiteside now rescuing the clueless Erik Spoelstra's coaching career with the Heat.
Sat Jan 31, 2015 12:46 pm
I'm kinda amazed how Hassan continues to just impose will on NBA's elite bigs. Casualties include Dwight Howard, Deandre Jordum, Pau Gasol, and right now Tyson Chandler is totally getting destroyed. 16 points 21 rebound in 22 minutes and it's not even end of 3 quarter yet

He fits perfectly in Miami's system. Put him in the Spurs or the Hawks and he'll look average.
Mon Feb 02, 2015 12:48 am
Possibly.
You try to expand his role beyond what his skill allows(which isn't much) or put him on the court with similar skillset(ie. who can reb), he won't do good. Kinda like Brandon Wright I assume. Miami allows Hassan to be the primary rim defender and lets him be the only guy who roams around paint area both on offense and defense as nobody else is good at operating only within 3 ft from basket which is Hassan's only comfort zone on the court. And he doesn't get to share his comfort zone with anybody else thus maximum freedom to put up his numbers.
But still, what he can do in that role is amazing. Kinda crazy that MIA locked him up for 1 mil a season for 2 years of his service. Somebody pay the kid.
Wed Feb 04, 2015 12:17 pm
It works both ways. 2nd year is unguaranteed and he becomes unrestricted should Miami grant him the 2nd year. Per our friends at rotoworld...
Great start for him. If he continues at this pace it's inevitable teams will be forced to game plan him
If he still continues to shine I will buy a white side jersey lol

Yep, it seems Whiteside will be a FA after this season. Good that he'll get paid.
But I wonder if Whiteside's legit. There was Dampier who disappeared after signing a big contract for having a one nice season, so did Jermy Lin.
Thu Feb 05, 2015 9:11 am
In Lin's defense, he did suffer a serious knee injury. Dampier on the other hand, you could argue that he phoned it in after landing a big deal.
I think Whiteside has legitimate talent, but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves with any bold proclamations of stardom or anything. Let's see how he holds up over the course of the season.
Thu Feb 05, 2015 11:31 am
Whiteside plays limited minutes for a reason.
Thu Feb 05, 2015 2:19 pm
He plays limited minutes in 30s, I will take it.
Whiteside raped again tonight. 24 points on 12/13 shooting, 20 rebounds 9 of them on offense, 3 steals and 2 blocks, but no assists and unusual 4 TOs. This kid is beasting but the Heat loses because max paid Bosh sucks and there's no good backcourt player with dead bench.

Pay Whiteside and trade Bosh for some nice stuff. Build upon Wade and Whiteside 1-2 punch. Let's go.
Thu Feb 05, 2015 9:15 pm
Miami got lucky picking Whiteside. Guy can ball.
Thu Feb 05, 2015 9:59 pm
That last turnover with Cole though
Fri Feb 06, 2015 6:06 am
Nice give and go on the play
Fri Feb 06, 2015 7:29 am
Which pixel is NoCole and GOATside?
Fri Feb 06, 2015 10:26 am
Shaqtin' a Fool material right there.
Fri Feb 06, 2015 11:30 am
The Heat's inside game is so terrible that it can make an athletic scrub like Whiteside look like Wilt, no wonder LeBron had to develop his post game when he was with the Heat.
Mon Feb 09, 2015 2:43 pm
Pisses me off. At this pace the Heat are not going to make the playoffs this season. Fuq.

Formerly Bill Walker. I heard he changed his name because he was tired of people calling him Billy. Kind of extreme, but nevertheless, maybe a good pick-up by the Heat there.
