Sources: Agent for Thunder guard Reggie Jackson has asked team for a trade

Jackson, 24, has made it clear to the Thunder that he would be resistant to returning to the franchise should it keep him for the rest of the season and then decide to match an offer sheet in restricted free agency this summer.

Presti has made no commitment to moving Jackson, but has been willing to gauge the market and listen to pitches on potential deals as always, sources said.

Doesn't sound quite as contentious as the situation with Dragic in Phoenix - yet - but it still sounds like he's adamant about leaving. If he's slipped down in the rotation anyway, no sense keeping an unhappy player around.

If I'm honest though I've expected him to be traded all season. I doubt OKC would want to pay him a huge amount just to be backup to Westbrook.

I might be wrong but I don't think Reggie Jackson is anything special considering how deep layers of PG talent go in this league. But might be worth investment. Under right circumstance he probably can do 16-5-5 type of number.

No that was a major dumbass move, he's nowhere near worth the Kemba Walker deal. Reggie ain't shit compared to Kemba and he was the biggest idiot I've ever sseen to turn down that deal.

While I think Kemba is overpaid but still, it's hard to believe Reggie rejected such a great deal. But looking at Reggie's per 36 stats, one probably can argue he's potentially better than Kemba.

That kind of contract makes you think though. Both James Harden and Westbrook are only 4 mil more expensive than Kemba the average joe and possibly Reggie. It's worth paying for superstars.

I like this deal. I remember Augustin being solid for the Bulls a while back when Rose was out injured, and Kanter is a clear upgrade over Perkins - even if he hasn't really fulfilled his potential.

OKC have really helped their chances of securing the eighth seed with this trade. Especially with Phoenix trading Dragic to Miami.

Well, yeah, it is his shot. This is his opportunity. He either becomes a success story, or it'll become painfully obvious that he's not the star he believes himself to be. Can't fault him for being excited and wanting to reach for the brass ring, though he might also want to keep his words soft and sweet, in case he needs to eat them later.

In his start for the Thunder this year, I heard his stats were something like ridiculous 20-5-5. That's pretty neat. I think we can expect 17-6-4 or something close to those numbers as a starter for the Pistons. If efficiency and other bonus stats can follow, then we can label him legit. And ship Brandon Jenny preferably to the Lakers for picks and cash.

Jackson in 14 starts, 38 minutes a game, 20/5/7.5 using 28% of possessions, scoring at 50% and hitting 27% of his threes. 105 ORtg.
Jackson's career as a starter: 50 starts, 33mpg, 16/4/6 using 25% of possessions, scoring at 50%, hitting 30% of his threes. 103 ORtg.

Jennings per 36 this year: 19.5/3/8.5 using 26% of possessions, scoring at 52% and hitting 36% of his threes. 110 ORtg.

Jackson's not pulling down six rebounds a game with the Pistons with Andre and Monroe and Joel sucking down everything in sight.

6, I meant as AST because your ast probably increases with able finishers around and not being around ball thugs like Durango and Westbrew. Actually I believe it's safe to say 6 and above is realistic projection.

Augustin was your boy before, now Jenny is. I think Jackson will be better for the Pistons than either of them. It's just easier to play as a ball handler alongside Monroe and Drum. Situation with the Thunder was different.

Oh, btw he sucked down 5 board in his first game with those freak rebounders.

Stats for rotation players tend to increase during blowouts that's why the rebounds.



As much as I hate Jennings he's a better fit for the Pistons because of his 3pt shooting than Reggie Jackson, because of the two post players in Monroe and Drummond, you need shooters around them to spread out the defense.
Most recent successful team I can think of with two post players and a PG that is bad at 3s was the 2003 champion Spurs but even they needed Bruce Bowen and Stephen Jackson to spread out the floor for Duncan and Robinson.

Only decent shooter the Pistons have right now is the Pope.

Reggie is just a good rebounder, you don't deny that, just like Rubio and Rondo are good rebounders. But Monroe/Drum will have their effect, hence the reason for my prediction 4 which is definitely feasible.

I don't deny Jenny has been better. But without this year's emergence, can you say Jenny was truly the better? Detroit is a PG friendly place right now especially with Smith gone. Just look at Augustin, a shit player was posting Wade like numbers before he was gone. Jenny struggled with Ellis and Sander in MIL. He probably would shit even worse in OKC in a role Jackson was filling, better shooting or not. So you see, it's only this year under SVG Jenny was finally posting decent/career numbers(though nothing to rave about). Reggie is finally in a situation where he can do shits to his liking. I like his upside so should you.

That 1 3pointer is misleading if you don't count his misses with a 0.25 3P%.
He can score though when Cavs focused their defense on Greg Monroe and Drummond (remove his putbacks in the game and his FG% drops below 45%), which is what you need from role players.
Good alley-oops to Drummond and assists to the Pope, and them rebounds too.
