After one of the games Hollinger was driving out of the parking lot in his rental car. As he got close to Wojnarowski, Spears, and Yahoo Sports NBA editor Johnny Ludden, Hollinger rolled down his window and joked, “Oh man, I could’ve taken out the whole Yahoo operation!” As he began to drive away, Wojnarowski yelled after him, “And we’d still kick your ass from the grave!”

Hollinger just did a drive-by shooting and Woj knows it.
Hollinger is such a badass.

That's an interesting read. When Woj is on his game, when he's good, he's very good. When he's bad though, it's ugly.

I think a problematic by-product of his tendency to churn out columns so quickly and regularly is that the perspective he offers is very much focused on the last thing that happened, rather than the bigger picture. There's nothing wrong with that per se - as the facts change, it's fine for your opinion to change, too - but it does make for some very inconsistent and "flip-flopping" observations during the Playoffs. He's written pieces that have chided LeBron James for his shortcomings after losses in which he underperformed, only to talk about his legacy and how he's asserting himself as the best player in the league when he's performed well in a bounce-back victory.

Spree#8 wrote:For whatever it's worth, they're 3-6 since the near-historically bad start. Still bad, but not a complete laughingstock. The slightly easier schedule, lack of injuries to key players and lack of the mental pressure of historic futility allows them to kind of hold their own most of the time, even if they still lose.

That's why I feel the whole uproar over tanking is overblown. It's not like they aren't try to compete and aiming to win games. It's just that starting over from scratch has made that very difficult, and the team is willing to weather than in the name of getting better in the future and not settling for mediocrity at an unreasonable price. Produce hard evidence that the one or two teams that are "tanking" are actively throwing games, and that's a scandal-worthy situation that should be addressed. Until then, the integrity of the game remains intact.

Unless KD comes back with a phenomenal season, Davis is MVP, and DPOTY. I can't think of any other player in the league with a larger overall impact than Davis.

Why can't a 25-11 guy who by the way, is the league leader of blocked shots per game (3), be the MVP this season? He's carrying the Pelicans single-handedly since he's the only guy there that can actually contribute.

He's an MVP candidate but he's not going to win it. It's either Steph Curry or James Harden to win the award IMO.

Davis has no chance of winning the MVP unless his team suddenly becomes a home court playoff one.

I've got to disagree on that one. Sometimes you can't ignore numbers even if the team isn't doing well. The NBA would be foolish to ignore Davis' phenomenal numbers.

That's why they have All-NBA teams.

For what it's worth, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won the MVP in 1976 despite the Lakers going 40-42 and missing out on the Playoffs, so it wouldn't be unprecedented.

The undermanned Sixers with only 8 active players tonight played with insane energy in the 2nd half and had their anti-Memphis game, coming back from a 23-point deficit to beat the Heat 91-87 in Miami. WINNING STREAK.

It's pretty interesting that Philly got all 4 of their wins in road games thus far, they're still winless at home.

Lillard went the hell off. Man that was an awesome comeback. Aldridge was barely even able to run but managed to contribute when it really mattered. Ballsy win for the Blazers.
