I don't care what Toronto's logo is, just as long as they keep wearing those '96-'97 alternates with the big dinosaur on the front, I'll be happy.

The Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets are discussing a deal centered on Deron Williams.

Talks have centered upon Darren Collison, Derrick Williams and Jason Thompson for Williams.

Sacramento has significant interest with Williams, but a hurdle to a possible deal is the Kings’ desire to have center Mason Plumlee included into the package, league sources said.

The Nets' partnership with Williams has become increasingly fractured over the past two years, and the idea of a breakup has appeal for both sides, sources tell Yahoo.

Williams has two full years and $43 million-plus left on his contract through the end of the 2017 season.

I must admit, I have a fondness for those old designs.

Is it just me or do the Kings have a hard-on for fat overpaid contracts ?

They also are about to sign that cult leader personality Mark Jackson as their coach. I bet he will have a huge impact on dumb-ass and impressionable Cousins.

9 points on 3/15 shooting against the Thunder, 25 points on 8/30 (plus nine turnovers) against the Kings. The Lakers were -6 when he was in the game against Oklahoma City, -17 in the Kings game. On the year, he has 665 points on 605 field goal attempts, shooting the ball at a 36% clip as of this post. His defense isn't what it used to be. Win Shares are admittedly an estimation, but for what it's worth, Carlos Boozer is having a more positive impact on the team in terms of that statistic.

In some ways, Kobe is defying Father Time, but in other ways, it's definitely caught up to him.

I've read that the Lakers want to re-sign him for another two years after next season. He'll probably still be able to go out there and do his thing to some extent, but I think as long as they insist on keeping him around and letting him call the shots and be the number one option, the Lakers are going to stink and miss out on top free agents. Kevin Durant recently said that he wouldn't be against playing with Kobe and that he believed other stars felt the same way, but we've seen them spurned by some of the top free agents in the past couple of years. Unless Kobe can make the same kind of transition that Tim Duncan did, I think the Lakers are doomed to some rough times and a delayed rebuilding effort.

Nick Young, naturally, has a solution on reducing Kobe's workload: "Just give me the ball. I'm always down to shoulder the load."

Figures. Every each one of Kobe's teammates have spoken in similar tunes before, yep, even when they were winning, a lot.

I told you guys this. They aren't that bad. A few games ago, they nearly beat fully healthy Grizzlies otherwise for last minute meltdown.

Danilo Gallinari has been diagnosed with a meniscus tear in his right knee.

Gallinari is out indefinitely and will need surgery.

This sucks. Oh well, get well soon Gallo.

They are still pretty bad, but they're also trying to the best of their ability, with a roster that's a long-term project and under construction.

Haha. That is just awesome. Its a big "fuck you" to all his teammates. What a terrible situation for a player to be in.

For whatever it's worth, they're 3-6 since the near-historically bad start. Still bad, but not a complete laughingstock. The slightly easier schedule, lack of injuries to key players and lack of the mental pressure of historic futility allows them to kind of hold their own most of the time, even if they still lose.

In the Boston and Charlotte games the Sixers haven't really looked right, maybe a result of that chokejob of the year against Memphis. Against the Magic though, the awesome effort was back and it worked wonders.

NovU wrote:A few games ago, they nearly beat fully healthy Grizzlies otherwise for last minute meltdown.

It was no last minute meltdown. Philly was up by 17 with about 7:30 to play in the 4th. From that point on, terrible play on both ends let Memphis back in. Conley's shot to send the game into OT was quite lucky, but he should never have had the chance to do that.

Re: Random NBA Discussion 2014-15 Season

Tue Dec 23, 2014 1:42 pm

Yup, I didn't mean literally by last minute meltdown. That OT loss was quite disappointing. Could have sent the league a message.

I gotta say, the Blazers are incredibly different without Aldridge. We're horrible without a low post anchor.
You know your team's not doing well when Myers Leonard has 10 points.
