I am sorry, but i'm not going to read all the speculations...
As all of you know, 2K produces some really cool games and working there is a dream job for most software engineers. So, when i saw the list of available vacancies, i decided to try and apply.
The negotiations began even before NBA 2K15 got released, and it was me, who initiated them. Currently we are at quite a late stage, so obviously i must think about what is good for the company and what is not; the release was put on hold, because we wanted to double-check, that the tool won't cause any potential harm. As you can see, it is eventually released.
Noone in 2K wants to intentionally prevent modding. Believe me as a software engineer, if they wanted, they would simply ecnrypt all the files or used some other cheap method, rather than spending thousands of bucks on salaries.
Leftos and Jon got hired because they are really talented people, as you could notice. They're making the best out of the game, and there is really no any hidden meaning in hiring them. As for me, i am really happy, that i can potentially join this cohort.
It is obvious, though, that once i have my hands on the game, the development of RED MC will be ceased, but the maintainance will be continued whether by me or by one of my friends.
I am sorry, that i put it in that short manner, which raised all the speculations. The above is the more detailed version of what's going on. Thank you for your attention and i will keep you updated about my status!

Audio and Textures editing is possible.
How To Use:
1) Run the tool, go to Help -> Open... dialog box. Locate your nba2k15.exe file and double-click on it.
2) The list of files will be loaded. Some of them are IFF, some are OGG, some are of unknown type.
3) Files can be renamed. The list of names is stored in the main game folder (it is FileNames.txt), so you can share it.
4) All files can be exported
5) OGG files can be previewed
6) Only IFF files can be imported with the free version; OGG files can be imported, if you have a proper license purchased. Other files can not be imported.
7) To edit contents of an IFF file, first export it, then open it. (Modder's Interfaces license is recommended)
8) IFF files can be edited exactly like last year. But only textures can be imported.
9) The same rules as last year apply to this year's IFF files. The Free version allows to import only textures, which do not exceed original size AND 512 pixels in each dimension.
10) After you edit an IFF file, don't forget to import it back into the main file storage.
A few extra features will be introduced later, which will make the editing process a bit easier. I will also record a video tutorial within in a couple of days.
finally got it working, had to open the MyFriend Panel for some reason.
I wanna edit the Celtics court for example, but I can't find ANY file from 0H. It just goes from 0C to 0Z.

About roster editor... no roster editor so far. And you shouldn't expect it from me this year, sorry.
TBM wrote:I got it. It has to do with the scroll bar. There are so many files that the scrollbar is so sensitive that a single tick of the scrollbar makes it skip hundreds of files.
Now I found 0H, but how would I go about finding the court files? Do I literally have to extract every file in 0H and open them all up till I stumble upon it?

Yes, at least for now.
I'll add a preview for IFF files in the next version. Plus the names of files will be getting revealed, i suppose.

And one last question. Why is RED MC offline for me and a bunch of other people, but apparently not others. I also can't access your website to download 4.0.1.

Thanks for noticing! This got fixed, so should work without the MyFriend Panel just fine now. A hot-fix is up.
Please, continue to report any bugs, you find. I'll release another version on Tuesday.

JBulls, i originally applied for the position, you found. And i use Delphi and C++ to create RED MC.
Greg, really, good luck with everything, you engineer! If you're enthusiastic and work a lot, you can easily get hired by 2K after college. The company needs hard-working talents.
