what you mean bro, no format c: and rebuild?! yeah really appreciate you trying all these things. i just noticed that in efx.ini, toward the bottom, you can save more detailed log information. if you (or anyone with the xinput error) swtich

log_level to 4 (from 3)
and
log_debug to true?

then of course start the game, crash to desktop, and send me the dxgi.log? might help us get to the bottom of this.

Because that crash hung around a bit and just froze I will include the details of the most common crash that sends me right back to desktop. I apologies for the enormous amount of space these reports take up in the thread.

interesting, i think this gives us a lead. can you remind me what video card you are using, and your monitor specs? are you using any software to adjust resolution? Here is my log, note the bolded areas, which are different than your log. for some reason the efx is not picking up your resolution, and is giving a "low resolution warning", where my log does not. I don't know waht this means, but will start asking around. if anyone has any ideas, please let me know:

disciple, which driver are you using? I have a guy helping me trouble shooting, and his first question from the looking at the log is if we are running the exact same driver. I'm running nvidia 340.52, without geforce experience. If you are not on this driver, and still interested in troubleshooting (i would understand if you're ready to throw in the towel!!), the next step is to do a clean install of 340.52 (click clean install when given the option), and opt not to install geforce experience (deselect it when it gives you the option). when complete, start the game again and pm the dxgi.log. this way we will be comparing apples to apples.

Thanks.

Ill go ahead and get that driver up. It would seem that I already took the red pill...

EDIT: Driver 340.52 has been installed clean and game still crashes. The Log has been PMed to you.

Ok I'm asking around...

Btw, do you run the 840 pro in that special speed mode?? Can't remember what it's called (via Samsung magician). I did for awhile but was causing issues with some games. If you do (and sorry I don't remember what Samsung calls this mode), try turning it off. At least something to try in the meantime while I get feedback on the log file.

I remembered... the Samsung 840 mode I referred to is called Rapid Mode. If you have it on, try with it off. It gave me problems with BF4.

It's disabled at default and I never bothered to even try it so I think it is safe to say it's off. Funny, I had forgotten about that completely lol.

after 3 hrs of research, i have figured out the problem, works great! The problem is steam in windows 8.1 for user who cant get this to work. The steam overlay is stopping the sweetfx injector from working so follow this and it should work, works for me perfectly after turning off 'steam in-game overlays"

Nice! Peeps with win 8.1 issues disable steam overlay and let me know if it worked. Great job hope this works for everyone.

No problem bro.. Thank you for your persistance to help us who were having an issue! This is what the modding community is all about, helping one another! Now let's clean up your thread a bit, lol. We can remove those long quotes with the log files info. I have experience in enb making, want to try sweetfx now! Thank bro! My game looks awesome with these! Can't decide what I like best, v2 or 3... Hopes there's a v4 in the near future  (Y)

For sure---this is what it's all about. And good idea regarding cleaning thread... maybe a mod could help us clean out the log posts, or the authors can edit them out. And yep, already working on a v4--photorealistic (or at least according to ME! lol).

no prob man, i know how frustrating it is when you can't get something like this to work. just thrilled that mpl 111 the fix. once you have the main sweetfx+efx files in the main directory, you can alt tab out of the game, copy and paste the other sweetfx_settings.txt into the game directory (while game is running), alt tab back into game, then hit the insert key to reload shaders .... best way if you wanna check out all three to see which one you like best.

I have Windows 7 and they work fine but I still prefer the original over the 3 versions. But we are early in the mod stages so I'm just glad people are putting hard work in trying to make this game better. Thanks!!!!

hey man. yeah, it's not for everyone...just comes down to different tastes. to me the original looks dull and wayyyyy too foggy. i try to get all my games to look as realistic as possible (again, according to my view of "realistic"). sweetfx is a great tool but somewhat limited in this regard. i prefer enb when it's available, or a enb/sweetfx combo.

I thought I was going to be using v2 color, but wound up digging v3. The color looks really good on player close ups. I do find it to be a bit too much during normal play where as v3 seems easier on the eyes. Anyone pairing this up with a enb?
