Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

So I got 2k15 on Steam and after 3 days of non-stop pre-loading I finally got the game ready to go..
However, when I try to play it, it opens up for a second then crashes to desktop. I have tried compatibility mode and running as admin but that doesn't work. I really don't want to redownload with my slow internet so any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Also should mention that I validated the files and they're all good... D:

The usual. Uninstall and reinstall video card drivers. Uninstall and reinstall Direct X.

I have the same problem on Win 8.1 x64. I tried updating drivers, installing the DirectX in the Steam files, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. None of it fixed the problem. It either flashes to black then back to the desktop, shows Durant then back to the desktop, or hangs on the team logo screen.
I also tried launching it from the Catalyst Control Panel. The same issue persists.
I have a Radeon 7770 with up to date drivers.

I had the same issue trying to get it to launch for the first time. What worked for me was running steam in offline mode then launching the game.

I fixed it for me but I doubt it's this easy for anyone else. Idk how/why but 2K15 just doesn't start for me if I have dxtory (a recording software) open. As soon as I closed dxtory and tried again the game launched without a problem. I have Windows 8.1 64 Bit btw.

Launching with Steam in offline mode worked.

Aargh. Jokes on me. Same exact problem. Game hangs on the team logo screen. Starting Steam offline helps a bit. It gets me two seconds of video with Durant but then crashes back to the desktop. Gonna try re-installing Direct X and video drivers. Hope that will fix it.

Tried reinstalling drivers but my old 5 year old AMD cards (AMD 4850) only have legacy drivers and they refused to install. Anyway, tried what some other forum suggested by disconnecting the internet so that the 2k servers would not cause the crash. Seems to have worked a little bit more. So now, I get the KD page, team logo page, video, and even get to the configure My Player page before it crashes to desktop. I'm beginning to understand why some people just can't be bothered and buy a PS4 or Xbox 1. My computer is only 5 years old; do I really want to plunk down another $1900 just to play this game and maybe a few other titles?

You shouldn't have to spend that much money just to run the game. I would never spend 2 G's on a computer.
