Re: 2K15 PC Specifications Speculations

Sun Aug 17, 2014 11:24 am

I'm not too worried about my GPU (2GB nVidia GTX 660...a really good cheap option for those that are looking for one). I've been able to run most newer games with decent to high settings (ACIV, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Batman: AC, Bioshock: Infinite, etc)

It's my CPU that I'm worried about (2.8GHz AMD Athlon II X4 630). I turned a very mid-level HP home desktop PC into a "gaming PC". This thing is about as good as it's gonna get without having to use custom cooling...

How can someone know? Wait for the announcement of the system requirements from 2k or Ronnie and you will know, as we all do :D

@columbusbobby23 - You're probably right. I just remembered when I went to download the NBA Live 14 demo for the PS4 the download file was like 20GB so I decided not to download the demo.

Everyone else who asked about their rig recently will probably be able to run the game at the least.

@princemuga you probably will be able to run on the higher/highest setting but I'm not sure about the smoothness/FPS.
@julsnice your GPU is good, and your CPU is not bad. But as it's probably weaker than a Phenom II X4 I can't really say anything.
@lilchris14 I'm not sure about high, but maybe medium.

Don't take my word as anything important. I can't tell the future :D

Hey guys, Can a nice gaming laptop play nba 2k15?? bcause I'm thinking of getting a gaming laptop that's way cheaper than gaming CPU's..

propably some settings on medium some on high

depends a bit on what your CPU and Ram are?

FX6300 and 8GB RAM DDR3. In worst case scenario i think i will go with overclock on my GPU.

i think you are propably fine at least when we take Fifa 15 as our bets benchmark your CPU will be enough to run it and your relative strong GPU will likley push you to medium settings

NBA 2K15 System Requirements: Minimum

OS: WINDOWS XP (32 bit) / Vista (32 bit) / WINDOWS 7 (32 bit)

Video: ATI 5570 GDDR3 / Nvidia GT 630 DDR3
Hard Drive: 7 GB free hard drive space
Sound: DirectSound, DirectX9.0c Compatible Audio
NBA 2K15 System Requirements: Recommended

OS: Windows XP (32 bit) / Vista (32 bit) / Windows 7 (32 bit)
Processor: Intel Core i3 (3.2 GHz) or equivalent AMD

2GB of RAM to play minimum?4GB of RAM to play on high?DirectX 9?These requirements are most probably fake.

as you could see they are a prediction and some of the requirements listed could be true like the processor or the GPU and some may be wrong its just a prediction that im hoping is true

Mon Aug 18, 2014 1:32 am

I stopped reading when they "predicted" Windows XP as minimum.

Hope my Phenon II X4 965 work with the game. My GPU is ok, R9 270X 2GB DDR5.

those are bad guesses

2gb ram... Directx 9 well if that would be the requierements we would not get next gen ^^

the CPUs and GPU guesses are ok but Directx,Ram and Windows XP are bullshit

yh thats what i was saying the cpu could definitly be true but whoever made this prediction yesterday made alot of wrong ones as well

i was asking ronnie about when the minimum requirements are going to release and he responded with "soon"

thx for asking

"soon" well that could be anything from tonight till october 6th^^

Ahem, "soon" can also be 9 years... Valvetime :D

Re: 2K15 PC Specifications Speculations

Mon Aug 18, 2014 7:30 am

@djherokiller - I feel like with the recommended settings you would not be able to play near the maxed out settings. But I feel you could play the game. The "guessed" requirements provided in the link is now gone and replaced with "Coming soon...please check tomorrow". Maybe the System Requirements will be released this week.

Soon...I really wish there was a firm number of days for that word.

My Current Setup.

OS: WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL (64 bit)
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.9GHz
Memory: 32 GB RAM (Corsair)
Graphics: DirectX 11
Video: 2 WAY SLI NVIDIA GTX 760'S GDDR5 @ 4GB of video memory. (1920X1080 Monitor)
Hard Drive: 1TB
It's GAME TIME!
As The Legendary Marv Albert said many times... "YES!" :applaud:

That would be 8 logical threads, not 8 CPUs...
32 GB ram seems like and overkill, especially when DDR4 RAMs are already on the market (basically only for servers now)...
Otherwise kinda nice, but nothing compared to our machines in lab :D

Try telling that to the DirectX Diagnostics Tool. I read it off of that. lol.

Re: 2K15 PC Specifications Speculations

Most likely system requirements will be similar to FIFA 15 PC.
I see no reason why we will have system requirements higher than that of FIFA 15 PC next-gen. Simply because for most next-gen games 4 GB is the minimum required. And for a sports game I would think it would be a risky business from 2K to try and set the RAM requirement higher than 4 GB for minimum requirement. And I also don't think we will need any greater than a Quad Core processor for the minimum.

Even if we couldn't max the game out with the minimum requirements. I am sure there will be graphical customization options to make our graphics more like 2K14 alike. That way we will be able to run the game smoothly with the minimum specifications.

Simply if we had the options to switch from DX11 to DX9 or have other graphics options to remove texture details, etc will sure make us run the game the way we could run 2K14.

And of-course if we were to upgrade to a fairly decent PC with recommended specs we still won't have problems running the game. As long as it's well optimized which generally speakings sports games are less system demanding than action/fps games. This isn't Watch Dogs or Battlefield 4, so nothing to worry about.

Lol. Well, Microsoft, what else you can say :D
BTW one of our assoc. profs said that he tried it and that hyperthreading improved performance in games 10-15% top... He's the kind that comes to a lecture in Diablo 3 T-shirt :D

Anyway, use CPU-Z, it's way better.
