NBA 2K15 Preorders - Oct 7th, $60 PC Version

Sat May 03, 2014 10:48 am

Preorders are live on GameStop and Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/NBa-2K15-Windows- ... 00K08RUR8/
http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/nba-2k15/114923

Both have the PC version at $60, which is a first ever since the series came to PC....even this early. No other information on the pages tho.

I am not sure if I want next gen on PC. I think the modding is getting to the point where I am content with current gen.

Fingers crossed for next gen...and perhaps time to start shopping around for a new system. A good enough excuse to do some research, at any rate.

yeah my video card is an amd hd radeon 7850 2 gigabyte, but my cpu is just an i3-3220 - time to upgrade to an i5 or i7 perhaps.

If we actually get next gen....holy shite. Even if we couldn't mod it, 2K14 will have legs like whoa. We can basically mod everything and even have a "Charlotte Hornets" audioID, which we could have modded in too if need be. Still, look at NBA 2K9 modding, starting off with texmod, shitty iff editors, simple roster editor, and barely anything usable before 2K10 came out, all while Live 08 was very very active. It'd be interesting.

I should be good cpu-wise, but my 560 Ti will definitely need to go....

great news , didn't had much hope for next-gen on PC
thanks  EA :bowdown2:

.. for that price it has to be next-gen , right ? :|

I don't really use many mods besides courts and cf's.. so i'll be rather content if we get the same release as consoles can't wait to play it at 1440p with the "next-gen" textures.

PS360 is still $60 :|

that would have been really telling, if PS360 was $40 or $50, and next gen was full priced.

Fun to speculate and wish, of course.

The argument of "we can't mod next gen yet, so let's stick with what we have" is retarded.

We all know it was gonna happen at some point, whether it be 2k15 or 2k20, so why not get the experimenting phase behind us as early as possible?

Let's hope this is the real deal.

Well, the full price is encouraging. At least, even if it be the last-gen port, it will not be with circumcised graphics and features, i think.
But of course I hope for next-gen port :D

This may sound stupid but they should add other player attributes that can make a difference on how good a player would perform these tasks..

For instance, a guy that is 6' 8" tall but has a wingspan that is a foot longer would be less likely to be blocked, obviously could shoot over most players without being blocked - or even effected by them jumping towards them, and could block other players more easily if his blocking skill is high, etc etc.

I know they do this with some attribute combinations for basic things, along with signature skills but only to a certain extent. And for god sakes I hope they finally make the cpu either run multiple plays if the first didn't work or at least make the guy holding the ball with 8 seconds attempt to get closed to the basket and not hold onto the ball.
That is one thing I haven't found a slider to correct.

The $60 price tag is just a placeholder. Once the October release date draws closer, those links will change to show the price drop to the usual $20-$30 range for PC (unless 2K is planning on giving us our usual stuff at double the price this year). Sorry to burst bubbles but we're not getting a new game on PC this time.

2K cares very little about the PC market. They care just enough to release a game each year (mostly because EA doesn't care at all), but we've had practically the same game for years now. I say practically because for the past two PC titles they've done very little other than remove game modes entirely and update rosters rather haphazardly.

Maybe I'm wrong and 2K has had a change of heart regarding their PC consumers. We'll see come October I suppose. I won't be holding my breath.

If it's next-gen on PC then I might consider it even for $60.
Usually NBA 2K here in the UK costs really cheap for PC. For example I bought NBA 2K11 Retail DVD for £12.99 that's $21.91 and 2K13 and 2K14 also Retail DVDs I bought for £14.99 in dollars which is $25.29 all these on PC.

So at $60 that would be equivalent to £35.56 for the PC version which would be more than double the price of what we usually pay for the PC version here in the UK. If the game is like last year on PC I wouldn't be willing to pay that much money.

I have a feeling that 2K15 on PC would be a hybrid between a PS3 version with only graphical upgrades of a PS4. Or perhaps they would simply include all the features such as the advanced lighting features, self-shadowing, etc from the PS3 version this time as a way to try and convey us that this time they included all the features from last gens console versions...

We will find out when the system requirements are announced. If the minimum system requirement for the processor is the same as 2K14 such as (CPU: Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz) then we know the game won't be next-gen. If the system requirements increase (such as requiring a Quad-Core/8 Core Processor) then we know that they ported next-gen!
