Re: Animation Patch

Why can't you? You don't really need paid version of RED to use it. ;)

I don't have money right now to pay for RED MC, so used free version for now, but will gladly pay for the tool later on. It's A+ stuff ;).

 I'm glad you are learning spanish  Thank you! Don't forget that Steve Nash has a new sig shot too, he's the player he used to be, but is one of my favorite player.

Thanks Jao, you know you are the one who lit the fuse (Y)

Thanks to this I have now found new joys of the game. Even started new association with Sacramento just to keep being amazed by some animations I haven't yet seen ;).

GREAT WORK here. Really. I recommend to try it to anyone. Testing with UBRv5 by the way ;).

Those beers look like a good idea, let's start the party! :D I'm glad you are enjoying the game, these kind of words give a meaning to my effort.

Thanks for your words, Brent. I wanted to give a patch that lives a mark on the community and it's great to read how people enjoy my work.

jbaylon74 wrote:The best patch ever! Hey bro can you do like in next gen that when the player is contested it does different shot animations?

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the patch :D Older 2K games had contested shots, I could take a shot but assigning them could be a problem, and the space, I already had some difficulties to add new animations... but I could take a look on contested shots when I have time.

PhatGeezer wrote:Awesome work man (Y) hope you'll carry on on your plan adding animations on free throw rituals

Thank you! I have to say that meeting my first goal is really an easy task, but there is a problem with space in the animations file, that's why I dismissed the adding old free throw routines project. But maybe I could do something about it, I will see.

Nice to see the community finally catching up. 4 years is a loooong time

I remember that patch, it was a very basic animation patch and I wanted to give something much bigger not only on quantity but on quality, besides my patch uses some new techniques to add new animations.

SoF'nAwesome wrote:Thanks man. Looks great. I will try this out and let you know :)

Hope you enjoy the patch :)

Thank you, I wanted to give something good and it is gratifying to see that people appreciate my work.

Although I have not tested your mod yet - in the middle of a HOF season with the spurs, changing shot signature would probably worsen my stats - I cannot but be impressed with the amount of work you've put into this. It was about time someone modded the animations. I have some questions for you:

1) Would it be possible to change the facial animations of the game? Sometimes when players get angry or grin they look like cartoons.

2) Would it be possible to convert NG animations to PC animations. Be careful what you answer, brains might explode :)

3)Do you think you could find an easier installation method? Not everyone is accustomed with the red modding tool...maybe you could release a roster + animation files that you can just drop into your game folder and be ready to play?

4) Could crowd animations be modded as well?

Lots of questions I know, but you got me very excited with this mod of yours. Congratulations once again.

First of all, thanks for your kind words, and answering your questions:

1) I haven't looked into it yet, but it should be done, if I remember correctly Lagoa was able to change the facial animations in his global.

2) I don't think they could work, the player models should have some differents and, most important, the animations file needs to be decompressed and there isn't a tool to do that with next gen games.

3) I could release a roster, but I think using RED MC is easy enough to adapt your favorite roster, if you have any problem or you need an even clearer tutorial just ask and I could help.

4) I guess it could be done, I will look into it if I have time.

tsiakalos13 wrote:First of all, incredible work. I can't unfortunately use this because I don't have a paid version of REDitor + it would take me a lot of time to get used to them :D
And while it should be a good idea to release a roster that has your patch intergrated, I can't help but ask: is there a chance that dunk packages/celebrations/pre-game routines etc. could be modified and/or completely changed? That would certainly be a game changer.
Again, congratulations for all the hard work and I hope you will continue to mod the shit out of our favourite basketball game :D

Thanks for your kind words!

First of all you don't need a paid version of RED MC to adapt a roster, a paid version is only needed to adapt association files. As I said before it's very easy to adapt a roster and I don't want to limit the player to use the roster I release, this way you can use your favorite roster. But if you have problems I will help in anything I can, or you can send me your favorite roster and I will adapt it for you.

Dunk packages/celebrations/pre-game routines etc. can be modified and/or completely changed, the problem is I need to edit the .exe file to do so, and this could be a problematic thing, sharing .exe files is always a problem and that's why I decided not to patch dunks by now.

NBA Live 08, the good old days... Do you remember the "It's Like That" project?

darko880 wrote:how to adapt this anomations with ubr roster i dont now sorry for my bad english....

To adapt a roster file you need RED MC, just put the .turk files (‘Sig Shot Adapter.turk’ and ‘Sig Shots for the Stars.turk’) into your RED MC \Scripts folder, open your roster and click on TURK > Sig Shot Adapter, to adapt the roster:

and them on TURK > Sig Shots for the Stars to asign animations to some players.

Save the roster and load it in game. And have fun!

I could, the problem would be finding room in the animation file, and it's needed to edit the .exe file to give some parameters to this kind of animations. Adding new layups don't need .exe editing, but I should remove other animatons.

Re: Animation Patch

Mon Feb 24, 2014 1:29 am

You could ask nesa24 to help with exe editing or jump the gun and ask jenkey1002 (best mod maker for Pro Evolution Soccer hands down and now FIFA hands down - he made the replacement for kitserver after all without having to edit exe file, you can load as many files to the game as you want thanks to that :P).

Just saying. ;)

The amount of work you did already is great. Finding all new animations here and I have big grin on my face :D.

Yup still remembered that project made by Ignatus, Clydeli & Me im so glad that i was also part of that project it really took the nbalive 08 gameplay to a new level back in the day :D

Hi!

Great stuff.

So it is possible to add "new" signature shots ?

So it could be possible to add a base for, e.g. Nowitzki, because their isn't a base ingame which looks like his shot ?

I will look into it, maybe I could expand the patch adding animations from the dunk contest, but finding space would be a problem... anyway now I need some rest :D

First I made a new and realistic shot base for Dirk, but at some point I discarted it to add a new animation for other player, with Nowitzki 2K crew at least made some effort, it's not so accurate but at least is something, and I decided that another player need that animation slot badly. But maybe, if I decide to make a revision of the patch, I could bring that animation back.

Is it possible to add Allen Iverson freethrow routine from NBA2k11?

I've tested it and they're mind blowing!! I love how a lot of the shot bases include the small leg kick they do. It's perfect!

First of all: WoooooW  this is very very impressive.

honestly, I really hate myself for not buying NBA2k14 so there is a quite silly question to come: does this animation patch (or this UBR patch) work in NBA2k13, too?

Re: Animation Patch

Tue Feb 25, 2014 6:25 am

This is insane! Thank you! Bro, is there a way you can do a proper T-Mac jumpshot from his prime with Orlando? Dat sweet leg kick.

Do you have a suggestion for rookie/young Jordan shot? It certainly changed through the years: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbK1VpQf7XM

Maybe eventually you can look into getting animations like Michael Jordans ball fake and holding the ball with one hand. Steve Nash's finger lick as he brings the ball up the court. Shaq looking at his hand and running back down court after a dunk lol. Jordans full dunk package, Shaqs dunk package etc etc from games past.
