Lillard is one busy guy.
Fri Feb 07, 2014 10:44 pm
As long as Lillard doesn't pull a Gerald Wallace in the dunk contest it's fine if he doesn't do well in the rest.
Sat Feb 08, 2014 1:10 am
I wonder how that Bucks rookie and Derozan will fair in the skills challenge.
Sat Feb 08, 2014 11:21 pm
That'll be fun to see Stephen Curry and Dell Curry teaming up in Shooting Stars. I'll take...
...Kevin Love to win the Three Point Shootout.
...Damian Lillard to win the Skills Challenge.
...Team Grant Hill to win the Rising Stars Challenge
...Team Curry to win the Shooting Stars Competition.
Sun Feb 09, 2014 12:02 am
I will go with...
Stephen Curry to win the Three Point Contest
Damian Lillard to win the Skills Challenge
Team Chris Webber to win the Rising Stars Challenge
Team Durant wo win the Shooting Stars Competition
Sun Feb 09, 2014 2:17 am
Team Curry
Team Webber if Olynyk plays more than 30 minutes
Dragic for the skills
Belinelli for the three
Sun Feb 09, 2014 3:32 am
I'm gonna take some unlikely guesses because chances are the guys we expect the most from(Curry, Lillard) might not perform up to the hype.
Irving for 3pt
Dragon for Skills
Team Webber
Team Durant

That's one of the reasons I didn't pick Curry in the Three Point Shootout.
Sun Feb 09, 2014 11:44 am
No way Curry isn't going to win the 3pt shootout.
I'm not sure about the skills, but I'm a Lillard fan.
The rest is team Curry and team Webber.

Well, he didn't win it last year; in fact, he didn't get out of the first round. So, it's not inconceivable that he doesn't win this year.

He is a good pick of course and if he does win, it won't be a huge surprise...especially since I've decided to pick Kevin Love instead. As SoF'nAwesome noted however, players who would seem to be the favourites in the All-Star Weekend events have a habit of coming up short. Not always, of course, but we do see the player with the best three point percentage on the season lose the shootout, the best player in the Skills Challenge screw up and get the worst time, etc.

That would mean J.J. will win the contest.

But I agree with you about weird results. I'll never forget MJ's try in 1990 when he scored just 5 points in a round against Craig Hodges.
Sun Feb 09, 2014 7:42 pm
I still think Hodges challenged Jordan to a bet so Jordan just had to participate.
Sun Feb 09, 2014 7:50 pm
Weirder still was Steve Smith doing quite poorly in the 2002 contest, despite coming into the Weekend leading the league in three point percentage (and being a solid shooter from outside for most of his career).
Sun Feb 09, 2014 8:13 pm
^ Must be tired from all those parties before the event.
Mon Feb 10, 2014 7:19 am
My predictions:
Rookie Challenge (I hate this event now): Team Hill - MVP: Lillard
Shooting Stars: Team Curry
Three Point Shootout: Damian Lillard
Skills Challenge: Damian Lillard
Dunk Contest: West / Lillard (fan vote)
All-Star Game: West / Lillard MVP
Mon Feb 10, 2014 1:47 pm
Damn, you rooting some heavy Lillard there.
Two things Lillard won't win even if he's at his best-- All-Star Game MVP & Dunk Contest. For the All-Star Game, I would go with PG24/KD.
Sun Feb 16, 2014 8:14 pm
Apart from Lillard for Skills, I don't think anybody predicted shit
Sun Feb 16, 2014 9:06 pm
shadow was correct on the 3 point contest
Mon Feb 17, 2014 1:54 am
I was also right with Team Hill winning since Team Webber failed to play Olynyk at least 30 minutes.
Mon Feb 17, 2014 2:41 am
BS you still failed to mention team hill in your prediction.
So everyone's 1 for 4?
Mon Feb 17, 2014 5:39 am
Go educate yourself about condition in logic especially with only 2 possible outcomes involved in the game.
2 out of 4. Suck it haters.
Mon Feb 17, 2014 6:37 pm
I picked Team Hill and Lillard, so that's 2/4 for me as well.
Tue Feb 18, 2014 5:44 am
Good to have some company, kind of lonely looking down at the losers below.
I like the relay format of the skills challenge, should be like that every year. Great finish too.
I hate the money rack in the three-point contest, we don't need inflated scores.
Only Belinelli scored a legit 20 points when he did it in the tie-breaker round.
The East did it right on how to do 'team' dunks but that freestyle round should be scrapped if they are going to stick with dunk contest as a team competition, maybe make it a round where the team should do 2 dunks with all the players involved.
Still not a fan of that team format though, scrap it, it's no dunk wheel but it's still meh.
Fuck crap ass gimmick dunks with what McLemore and Harrison Barnes did.
McLemore's dunk wasn't bad but he should just have brought out that big ass chair have Shaq sit on it, dunk, over, none of that shite intros and post dunk acting.
I don't who sucked so bad, Harrison Barnes for doing that 2K gimmick or 2K for not thinking of a backup 2K dunk animation or two to play in case Barnes couldn't pull off his first option dunk.
