Even if he turned out to be gay Cristiano Ronaldo still probably had more poontang than the entire NLSC combined, Tales excluded of course.

Chelsea stalling the Manchester City steamroller. Arsenal back to the top of the table. I hope this tight battle for the title goes to the end of the season.

Thank you shadowgrin. I just learned a new awesome word.

But damn, City NOT scoring is something. I thought they were gonna rain at least 4-5 goals. Mourinho replies to Guardiola :D

It's funny how Liverpool just kinda phased out of the race for the League.

WTF WAS ARSENAL DOING THEY LOOKED LIKE A CONFERENCE TEAM. smh

That first 20 minutes was about as good as it gets as football fan. Could have been 6-0, instead of 4-0. That volley by Suarez was crazy

Suarez failing to score against a top team again. Time to sell him  This freekick though..

Not convinced Arsenal are going to completely implode like most people seem to think. Wenger has been in this position before and I'm sure he'll keep them up in the top few. They have a really tough month ahead of them though.

At least they played better than Spurs. 5-1 > 5-0

Even though I was rooting against them it's hard not to be impressed by that onslaught they did in just 20 minutes, it was a mixture of cursing and wows viewing it.

That first gif sums up the Arsenal defense in that game. Just look at those 3 players in front of the goal right after the save.

Dat freekick is as perfect as it gets. Szczesny got shot by a sniper just to save it.

Destroyed the top team and then almost lost to the bottom team in the same week. Important 3 points considering Spurs are coming into form and Chelsea and Arsenal drew above us

I love the headlines after matches these days:

"Arsenal frustrated while Moyes settles for draw"

"49 - David Moyes has now won none of 49 PL away games at the 'Big Four' (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & Man Utd) (W0 D19 L30)."

Hard to rib the guy for being so passionate and intense as if his team just came back to win it from being down 5 goals.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

Fri Feb 14, 2014 9:55 pm

It's easy, especially when that is his reaction to going 2-1 up at home against bottom placed Fulham. It's even funnier knowing that they conceded in the last minute and drew the match

Good luck to him though. I wish him many years in the job

Nah man, seriously. I want him gone. As a former MU fan, it's just painful to see them suck so hard. I don't know if he is the only problem, but unless he is fired there won't be any way to find out.

As for Arsenal:

Arsene Wenger is ready to risk the wrath of Arsenal fans by resting key players for the FA Cup clash with Liverpool – in the hope of beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

According to the Daily Mail, the Frenchman will consider resting Wojciech Szczesny, Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil and Mikel Arteta, while youngsters like Serge Gnabry and Carl Jenkinson along with fringe stars Nicklas Bendtner and Lukasz Fabianski set to play.

It would be most surprising if Arsenal won anything this year.

Would be kinda funny if he rested players and ended up losing in both competitions.

In other news, Fulham have replaced their second manager of the season, after only 17 games in charge. It's weird because Rene Meulensteen seemed to be turning things around. A draw at Old Trafford and a close loss (due to a last minute penalty) against Liverpool.

New boss Felix Magath has won 3 Bundesliga titles with Bayern and Wolfsburg, but keeping this Fulham team up may be nearly impossible at this point. They are pretty rubbish. Maybe the only thing in his favour is the closeness of the bottom teams this year; 8 points between bottom team Fulham and 10th team Swansea.

I caught the Barca game yesterday. DAMN. This must be their turning point. Between all this All-Star stuff, it was nice to see some class football. Will be interesting to see how CR7 replies.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

The Spanish league has turned into the Portuguese league this season; 3 big teams battling it out way ahead of everyone else. If Real beat Getafe then they will be level with Barca and Atletico again on 60 points. I don't really have a favourite out of Barca and Real, so I'm rooting for the Atletico to win the title. (Y)

Barcelona coming into form is the last thing Man City wanted right before they meet in the champions league.

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

ManC are still the favorites imo.

CR7-less Madrid manage to win 0-3. La Liga stays the most competitive league this year.

Without Aguero? And with Neymar and Messi playing? Gonna be tight. :)

Btw, Howard Webb is just horrible. :wall: Says a lot about the quality of refereeing in England if he is considered the best that they have.

I'm sorry, I totally missed the FA cup. Just watched the highlights. No, that wasn't a dive

Arsenal got their revenge, and this 2-1 is the one that matters, not 5-1.

I'll take a 5-1 league win over a 2-1 FA Cup win any day. :applaud:

Apparently Howard Webb blinks at the wrong times.

Phil was right. Barca won. I was rooting for ManC :(

And Ibra takes another step towards being the top-scorer.

Will the Quarterfinals remain unknown for ManC another year?

Re: General Football/Soccer Talk

I don't think they will go far in the champions league until they buy another quality defender to play alongside Kompany. They are obviously great at scoring goals, but they need a solid defense to allow them to play attacking football against the big teams like Barcelona or Bayern without worrying about conceding goals.
