Re: The Knicks Thread....

9-20......oy vay

To me, the main problem is the flawed roster, not Woodson. Last season the team won 54 games. Did he forget how to coach between then and now? Knicks just aren't good this year - combine that with the injures, and it's no shock they're a hot mess.

Apparently, Dolan met with the team and told them there'll be no trades or coach firings. That should be good news for Shump. I believe the trade rumors affected his game. He's not the same as last year.

IN GREEN, Dolan wanted Lin back, but he got ticked off when Lin went back to Houston and got a 'poison-pill' contract.

Jeffx, do you think Knicks will make the playoffs?

Re: The Knicks Thread....

The eastern conference is such a suckfest, Knicks could make the playoffs. But so what? They'll be sub-.500 - there's no pride in that.

Fucking Dolan. If he just hired a real GM with a long term plan and would leave him alone, Knicks could eventually be a force. Oh wait, we had that with Donnie Walsh, and where is he now?

Fuck, fuck, fuck.........

J.R.'s pissed off at the Knicks waiving his brother. Shit, his brother shouldn't even be on an NBA roster.

That was a bit immature from Melo. A professional athlete can't let these types of comments get to him.

He is having a bad season forgive him for that.

The season J.R. Smith had last year was fool's gold. He's back to being a clown. As far as I'm concerned, Knicks can waive him too. Let J.R. and his brother tweet together.

Wow, the Knicks screws up again. Last night they could have held on for the last shot for the win. Instead jacks up a three pointer and lost the game. Bargnani dejavu.

Although he made quite a stupid play at the end which caused us the game. The Knicks competed throughout the whole game and at the end of the day thats all we can ask for.

Impressive win Thursday vs Miami, but at 13-22, Knicks have a long way to go before I'm convinced they've turned things around. They're not dragging me in this time.

Hopefully, Woodson's love affair with J.R. is over. Give Shump, Hardaway Jr., and Murray more PT. For once I'd like to see the Knicks develop and KEEP young players.

JR Smith had a good game against the Sixers though. Hope he continues this instead of doing immature stuffs on the court and maybe the Knicks will not be a laughing stock.

What's the problem with them being a laughing stock?

Well, many people expect them to be one of the good teams on the East and not underachieve like this. Well technically almost all of the Eastern conference is a laughing stock now.

Knicks 5-game winning streak is over, and another DNP for J.R. I have a feeling this is coming from the owner. And Dolan's got rid of players who pissed him off in the past - Sprewell, Camby, Nate Robinson, Jeremy Lin.....I think J.R.'s days are numbered.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Thu Jan 16, 2014 7:46 am

The funny thing is he isn't entirely to blame for the Knicks' woes but he was playing hard(tho not good) despite phony act of shoe lace. OFC I don't know the stories in the locker room or off court but sitting him out is silly. It does nothing good for the team that's just paid big bucks to him and trying to trade him. This is just a silly attempt to piss off JR as a punishment and a blame evasive action as focus will be on JR heavily. Emotion's getting in the way for the Knicks.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Thu Jan 16, 2014 9:20 am

It's not like he's been having a great season though, nor have they particularly missed him during the recent stretch. That said, I do agree that it does little to help his trade value; "Give us something good for this guy who's not been playing all that well this year and has become such a headache that we're not even playing him" is hardly an appealing pitch.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Thu Jan 16, 2014 3:34 pm

There can't be a pitch for JR. That's the reason for the headache. I doubt any team will take him.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Thu Jan 16, 2014 7:39 pm

I think someone will, either out of desperation or a genuine belief that if he's in the right situation, he can develop a better attitude and be a valuable contributor as he was for the Knicks last year. Much worse players have been able to enjoy lengthy careers in the league and get second, third, fourth and fifth chances.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Thu Jan 16, 2014 8:33 pm

JR is a good player, no doubt. What I'm saying is, why would any team want to have someone who is known as "The Shoelace Bandit"? He's like Bynum, having him in your team will do no good.

Only way for JR is to make good with Woodsoon & put out some good performances playing for the Knicks. Then maybe, other teams will be willing for a trade.

There's 30 teams in the league and it's not like they're all loaded with superstars. Someone will believe they can make it work and take a chance. Like I said, we've seen worse players stick around in the league for a long time and receive multiple chances.

The Knicks have got to turn this shit around for Carmelo to stick around. Carmelo has got to stick around. And Washington needs to stop having interest in Monroe. :x
