The Boston Celtics have reached an agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies to trade for veteran guard Jerryd Bayless, according to sources close to the process. Sources told ESPN.com that the Celtics, after pursuing him in previous seasons as well, are on the verge of acquiring Bayless for shooting guard Courtney Lee. A trade call with the league office, sources said, has been scheduled for Monday.

I guess the Celtics have more need for another point guard on the roster, but I'd say the Grizzlies are getting the better end of that one.

This is a nice cap clearing move for the Celtics. Rondo's coming back at the end of this month. They didn't need Bayless that much.

I am a fan of both players, who haven't really found a team that really likes them. Well, Lee did but he missed that layup in the Finals in LA and he got traded for Vince Carter and hasn't found a new home. Portland had a lot of young talent 5-6 years ago and seemed to give up rather quickly on quite a few of their promising players, including Bayless. He imo was a steal in that draft but they gave up on him when he didn't really have a chance to shine.
