Rockets have talked to multiple teams about trading disgruntled center Omer AsikIn an effort to unload disgruntled center Omer Asik, the Houston Rockets have engaged in trade talks with multiple teams and are demanding an impact player in return, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Rival executives say that Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has been active in discussing possible deals for Asik, but his asking price has been too high so far. Morey has been willing to accommodate Asik's summertime trade request, but has found little traction on possible deals.

Asik's being benched now... lol.

How do you like this?
Sat Nov 16, 2013 12:39 pm
Where's Asik in that trade? How's that even funny with no Asik or Dwight involved?
Sat Nov 16, 2013 1:15 pm
Is it possible for the Mavs to get Asik?
Sat Nov 16, 2013 1:22 pm
Not unless the Mavs are willing to take Lin's contract.
Sat Nov 16, 2013 5:45 pm
Come to Portland.
Sat Nov 16, 2013 10:23 pm
The disgruntlement on Asik was shown the day the Rockets signed Howard. Them starting together was really ineffective, even with Dwight switching on the 4 spot.
On the other hand, I think Morey's also looking for a lottery pick aside for an impact player, hence being adamant on trading Asik.

Trade Asik to the Magic.

NO.
Come to Miami. We will give you Joel Anthony.

To get Nikola Vucevic and a lottery pick? Makes sense.

so the celtics pick up lebron and harden and gain 6 wins? good job trade machine
he wanted out the second they landed dwight. they should have traded him before now. i wonder if the hawks have asked about him? moving horford to the 4 would be great

U mad.
Hawks just Paul Millsap this past offseason and he's playing great.

Omer Asik’s Actions Have Put the Houston Rockets in a No-Win SituationAsik did not play in the Rockets' win over the New York Knicks last Thursday, and was not in the arena in the Rockets' win over the Denver Nuggets at home on Saturday. Through his agent, Asik stated that he was in no condition to perform after the demotion.
The Rockets have obviously created this situation for themselves by acquiring Howard a year after they picked up Osik to start in the middle, but that's kind of a troubling attitude for him to have. His disappointment is understandable, but claiming he's in no condition to perform after being demoted to the bench? That's a tad diva-ish.

He's a Turkey like Turkeyglu. That explains it already.
Tue Nov 19, 2013 11:13 am
According to rival executives, the asking price is too high for Asik. The biggest trade rumor has been for Ryan Anderson of the Pelicans and that seems a awfully lopsided. The Rockets didn't play their backup center at all in Thursday's win and it's unclear how long they'll keep Asik benched.

Would the Knicks be interested in Asik?
Tue Nov 19, 2013 11:55 am
There's probably legitimate interest all around the league, but given the circumstances they're certainly going to lowball the Rockets on any offers.
Tue Nov 19, 2013 12:08 pm
I see that Asik learned how to be a bitch like Dwight Howard.

Woj reports that
the Hawks, the Celtics, the Cavs, and the 76ers are interested with Asik.
As the Houston Rockets move to the cusp of trading disgruntled center Omer Asik, Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland and Philadelphia have emerged as the frontrunners to land him, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Another team, deemed a "wildcard" by one league source, has teetered on the edge of negotiations and could become more seriously involved before the Rockets' self-imposed deadline of Friday to complete a deal.
Houston is pursuing a power forward in a deal, with candidates including Atlanta's Paul Millsap, Philadelphia's Thaddeus Young, Boston's Brandon Bass and Jeff Green and Cleveland's Anderson Varejao.
Hell yeah.
Wed Dec 18, 2013 8:15 pm
I'm guessing Asik won't be much happier in Cleveland, where he'll have to share court time with Andrew Bynum and possibly be his backup. A deal with the Hawks would be pretty good for both sides. Horford could go back to playing power forward with Asik around and Millsap would be a fine player for the Rockets to get in return. The Celtics deal is solid too.
Wed Dec 18, 2013 10:15 pm
Only question to me is, why would the Hawks give up on Millsap who is playing really good this season.
Wed Dec 18, 2013 10:58 pm
Because they can get a defensive center 1 million cheaper and move their franchise player to his preferred position.
Wed Dec 18, 2013 11:24 pm
I like Millsap so Asik can play elsewhere. His style of play would slow the Hawks down anyway.
Wed Dec 18, 2013 11:28 pm
The Rockets should trade for Bass and Green, then the Celtics trade Rondo for picks later. Mmm
mwhahahahaaa.

Not really. Asik managed to keep up playing 30 mpg last season with the Rockets leading the league in Pace.
