changing uniform shorts

i recently downloaded a file with a bunch of nike addias jordan etc.. i would like some kind of tip on how to change team shorts into these other shorts.. for example.. i want change lakers home and away short ua0015 uh0015 into black and yellow nike elite shorts i have.. i have the mod tools.. but im clearly stuck on how to make it happen.. if someone have some tips on how to get me started i would greatly appreciate it..
