Knicks Franchise

Postby hugo_marbury on Sun Jul 11, 2004 8:36 am

hey...

I started a Knicks franchise in the xbox, I updated the roster the most that I could and I left the ratings the same.

starting 5

c- mutombo
pf- k.thomas
sf- t.thomas
sg- houston
pg-starbury

bench

m.norris
p.hardaway
d.johnson
m.sweetney
n.mohammed
s.anderson
v.baker
-----------------
o.harrington
f.williams
c-.trybanski

my record is 5-6

starbury is my leading scorer, k.thomas the rebound leader, t.thomas the block leader (¿?), starbury assists leader.

the bench players has not been playing good, so I´m thinking on making a trade...I got some options:

*trading s.anderson for q.richardson of the clippers (not very realistic)
*trading s.anderson and c.trybanski for m.miller of memphis (s. swift got injured and memphis NEEDS a pf or center, and I need a good backup shooter.
*or trading s.anderson, o.harrington and c.trybanski for b.wells.

what do you guys think?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

can you edit the headbands for the players...when you unlocked them can you assigned them to a player?....

lookin good (Y)...

one thing though, have you ever played with mike miller? you'd be surprised. i find him much more playable than tim thomas, you might end up starting him instead of him being a "backup shooter"...he's very servicable.

in that last deal, you're giving up way too much for bonzi wells. bonzi is actually quite similar to mike miller, except bonzi's a bit better on defense and miller has a better 3pt shot.

overall, i'd say i like the mike miller deal (Y).

oh, and PS....the Quentin trade is ridiculous LOL. go for it though, i sometimes pull deals that are way unrealistic. he might mess up your team chemistry though-- don't want too much talent.

Yeah deffinately go with the Miller trade out of those 3, or if you want Bonzi, dont give that much up for him. The only problem with Miller is that you will find it way too easy to score, with Houston Miller and Starbury as well as the two Thomas'. I'd say the Wells one would work better for you team overall, but Miller is instant offense.

trade done!

Postby hugo_marbury on Mon Jul 12, 2004 2:57 am

I finally made the trade with Memphis:

I send s.anderson and v.baker for m.miller.

the reason to make the trade was to get some cap space, anderson and baker have big contracts for 3 or 4 years, and I think is a realistic trade and both teams got what they need it.

do you think was realistic? :?:

finally, k.thomas got injured :!: ...he is playable but the injury (broken finger) is for two weeks...I think Im gonna play with him or maybe start with m.sweetney, not sure yet.

(I played the first game with m.miller, he came out from the bench and scored 16 points, we beat detroit for 15...)

go knicks!

well....that wasn't really a fair trade if you look at it from an NBA standpoint (even with Baker's recent 'ressurection')...Mike Miller has too much of a future.

but from the nba live (game) standpoint, it's not such a terrible trade for memphis.

i would suggest starting sweeney, seeing how he does. if he does terrible, just bring kurt in off the bench. that way you don't risk further injury unless you have to. this is where trading vin baker might end up hurting you the most, if kurt goes out with an injury

I got Vince!!!

Postby hugo_marbury on Thu Jul 22, 2004 3:54 am

hey...

I decided to start a new dinasty and try to make it more realistic...

so I made a trade:

Dikembe, Tim Thomas and Shandon Anderson for Vince "I want to get out of Toronto" Carter.

You all know that Air Canada wants to be traded it, so I made his dream come true. I think it was a fair trade, Dikembe is a solid center and Tim Thomas is also a pretty good small forward and Shandon Anderson is a good bench player.

Now I just need some size, I think I will make a move to get Dampier, not sure yet.

I have played 3 games and my record is 2-1...beat Orlando and San Antonio and got beat in Orlando.

Vince is playing OK, the first two games he averaged 23 points but in the last he scored only 15.
N. Mohammed is playing fine and V.Baker also is doing a good work.

I play always in the PG.

Yeah that trade seems pretty fair for the fact Toronto was going to take Shandon Anderson, Josh Howard and some other trash for VC. So that's alot better than that one

nuts to being fair, if they are willing to give you a top rated rookie for a guy 2 years from retirement i say take the deal. nba live needs to revamp thier tradeing system cause you could never get a top pick rookie/2nd year player for a guy a few years past 30. dont matter if he is 99 overall, unless the rookie has no real future the comp will never pull the trade. maddens trades are forceably realistic. cant wait for nba live to catch up on that also.
