Looks like RVP decided otherwise, Phil. But if your team keeps Suarez up, first place shouldn't be that hard?
Another topic, is it fair that only Ibra or CR7 will able to play the WC? FIFA should do something like ditch a fucked up team & let both Sweden and Portugal play. Who would disagree with that?
Mon Nov 11, 2013 10:27 pm
I think everyone who got a spot at the WC deserves it because they really worked hard for it even though they are worse than Sweden and Portugal. Portugal should have won their group anyways.

That.
What's the next terrible idea, that every participant should be given a medal?

Who wants to see the same teams play every tournament anyway?
Personally I'm looking forward to seeing Belgium at a World Cup for the first time in 12 years. They have a lot of talented players and it'll be interesting to see how they do.
Seems they are having their own "golden generation" at the moment: Thibaut Courtois, Simon Mignolet, Vincent Kompany, Daniel Van Buyten, Jan Vertonghen, Thomas Vermaelen, Toby Alderweireld, Mousa Dembélé, Marouane Fellaini, Axel Witsel, Eden Hazard, Steven Defour, Nacer Chadli, Kevin De Bruyne, Kevin Mirallas, Romelu Lukaku, Dries Mertens, Christian Benteke, Zakaria Bakkali.
In other news, Austin Powers was at the Liverpool-Fulham game

Every participant should be given a medal. Then people like shadowgrin wouldn't be made. I was just saying that because at the end of the day it's more of a tournament than a tradition and everybody wants to see competition there.
Damn, I didn't know Lukaku was from Belgium.
And in 2015, seems like CR7 will get the Ballon d'Or without any competition. But after 5 times, I think Messi needs to rest anyways.

You asked a question you got answers.

Ronaldo and Zlatan both doing what they do best, but Ronaldo comes out on top and Portugal qualify for Brazil 2014.
Nice to see Sakho score twice as well to help France qualify.
Wed Nov 20, 2013 11:33 am
Damn. No big Swed in the WC

But that mofo CR7 was playing 2x Ibra and Messi.
France literally made history as the first team to make a comeback from 0-2 & make it to the WC. Oh well, Sheva doesn't play for Ukraine anymore, so I really don't care. Good to Sakho & Ribery taking the trip to Brazil.

The world cup would really need Ibrahimovic, but at least Portugal made it.

How did Kevin Mirallas not get sent off 3 times?

First that terrible tackle which could have seriously damaged Suarez's knee, then he does some WWE leg drop onto Suarez's head and later on he elbowed Henderson in the head and made him bleed. I really hate referees sometimes.
Pretty annoyed at Joe Allen as well. Should have been 3-1 up and secured the 3 points but Allen choked.

I guess a draw away at a top four rival isn't the worst result though.
Arsenal extend the gap to 4 points again at the top of the league.

Seems like he wanted to be Boateng to a Ballack.
But that free-kick though.
All of the best goals in this season have come from Liverpool. My #1 would be the Sturridge flick. And his celebration after made it more special

I wouldn't be surprised if a Liverpool player wins the goal of the season award. Even just from the West Brom match there were 3 brilliant goals.
This will take some beating though:
Also have to love how Ross Barkley was booked for diving, but I haven't seen anything about it in the press.
If it had been Suarez.....

Poor Tottenham got raped
Fri Nov 29, 2013 5:30 pm
They should have just spent the 100 million on Suarez
Wed Dec 04, 2013 10:48 pm
Phil, what are you mourning on currently? Hull City or Sturridge?

World Cup draw is official now.
I was hoping Australia would get an easier group so we could have a chance to sneak through to the knockout stages. Instead we got the 2010 champions, the 2010 beaten finalists and one of the best South American teams as well.
Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon.
Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia.
Group C: Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan.
Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy.
Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Honduras.
Group F: Argentina, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Iran, Nigeria.
Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA.
Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, South Korea.
Sat Dec 07, 2013 10:49 am
we got put in one of the toughest groups as well. hope to upset either germany or portugal!
Sat Dec 07, 2013 7:02 pm
That group B & D!
Qballer, that would be highly unlikely
Mon Dec 16, 2013 4:55 am
Damn. Nobody gonna talk about ManC toying with Arsenal?
At least Phil is happy. I guess that's the end of Villas-Bolas.
Mon Dec 16, 2013 12:15 pm
So glad I stayed up until 5am to watch the match live
Best I've seen the team play in a few years. Suarez, Henderson, Lucas, Sterling, Flanagan, Sakho etc were all immense. The commentators were questioning having Suarez as captain before the match, LOL. 2 goals and 2 assists. He did fine. He's got 17 goals and 8 assists in the league and it isn't even Christmas yet.
I don't really think Spurs should sack AVB. I liked what he did at Porto and originally wanted him at Liverpool before we got Rodgers. Plus, who are they going to get to replace him that would do a better job?
Title race is wide open again thanks to Arsenal losing.
Mon Dec 16, 2013 5:22 pm
Spending 100 million for quality players after you've sold your best player and then losing to Liverpool 5-0. If Abramovic was Tottenham's owner. AVB will be sacked right after the game.
Mon Dec 16, 2013 6:05 pm
It's just a shame that Tony Pulis already accepted the Crystal Palace job....
