Wouldn't that be Kobe?

Technically it's not Kobe since any number multiplied by zero is still zero and dividing his salary by zero ($ per minute) is not possible.

Will someone explain to me what the hell happened Sunday? The Spurs ran a Basketball 101 clinic on the Knicks. No effort at all. I knew the team would take a step backwards this season, but this is inexcusable.

Any more performances like that and I'll bet Brain-Dead Dolan changes coaches.

There you go.
Also no Chandler for defense.

Chandler's injury can't be discounted, but there's obviously still a lot of drama within the organisation.

Knicks problems start at the top Andrew, and it's why this franchise will continue to stumble and bumble with Brain-Dead Dolan in charge. Last season was fool's gold - Knicks are slipping into laughing-stock status again.

Couple of weeks ago, there was a great article in the NY Times comparing Knicks management to the Spurs. Made me want to cry.

Yeah hate to tell you this but I laughed when media reported that they were after Rondo. And Ainge was like WTF. Entire population thinks/knows the Knicks are desperate.

Oh man. NYK just can't catch a break. It was a won game and then that Shumpert foul.

And it cost them dearly. Pacers win.

What do you guys think of possible trade deal between the Knicks and Celtics? Mainly involves Stoudemire for Humphries and Gerald Wallace. Seems like the Celtics only want it because Stoudmire's contract runs year shorter.

Basic calculus/algebra will tell you the closer your denominator gets to zero then your result will rapidly grow towards infinity. Thus,

Kobe's $/min = Kobe's salary / Kobe's minutes, where Kobe's minutes approach zero, Kobe's $/min approaches infinity, making Kobe infinitely expensive per minute. BOOM.

Too bad Kobe's minutes this season currently isn't approaching zero but is exactly zero.
I don't what's more terrible, you dissin' Kobe or you misusing Calculus.

Misusing calculus.

I guess it facilitates the rebuilding process by getting a big contract off the books sooner, though Humphries is an expiring contract this year. It's looking like Stoudemire's a shell of his former self at this point, so I doubt they'd be banking on him making any meaningful contributions on the court. Probably not a bad move, all things considered.

Decent for the Knicks, contracts aside. Wallace and Humphries aren't exactly the players they need, but probably have more of a chance of contributing something worthwhile than Stoudemire does. Pretty much a "let's swap our broken/spare parts for yours and see if we can make something out of it" type of trade.

I actually think Humphries still capable player otherwise for Kardashian and TMZ madness. I'd say the Knicks should pull it too.

Woodson: Melo not getting calls
Interesting point. His free three attempt rate is certainly career low. I am not saying superstars deserve special treatment in calls but it is down.

A lot of his attempts are outside of the paint so far this year, though he is still going inside a fair bit so he probably should be getting a few more calls.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Sat Nov 23, 2013 3:42 pm

Woodson just bitching.
Carmelo's attempting one free throw attempt more than last season which is expected since he's attempting one more shot at the rim this season in his entire career with the Knicks, while his other shot attempts in other areas are almost the same as last season.
It may look like he's not getting the calls because his taking it to the hole himself (25% shots assisted) more than last season (41% assisted).

Not surprisingly, the league didn't care for Woodson's remarks. BDL's suggested example of what he was talking about:

Meanwhile, Dolan speaks.

I hate league penalizing referee talk. Woodson's fine is $1k more than Pau's UNICEF give, which is utterly stupid and excessive. They should loosen up a bit and think about fining refs instead.

Aw man. Add another loss for the Knicks. Melo's been doing everything he can to get a W. Shump and JR needs to pick up their play.

Perhaps the only Knicks player in the locker room with a somewhat sunny disposition was Metta World Peace, who was playing in his first game back at Staples Center after the Los Angeles Lakers used their amnesty rights on his contract in the offseason.

"We're not struggling," World Peace said. "It's part of life. You know how life is. We had a bad hair day, you know?"

World Peace signed with the Knicks in the offseason, passing up an opportunity to stay in Los Angeles with the Clippers, largely because of the lure of winning in New York.

"I honestly didn't even know who the coach was when I was coming to New York," World Peace said. "I just wanted to win a championship; I didn't even know who was coaching. I didn't care. It could have been Aunt Jemima. They could have had the syrup coaching. I was coming here regardless. I just wanted to win a championship here."

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Fri Nov 29, 2013 10:52 am

Gotta like his optimism I guess, but a little out of touch with reality. Mind you, I suppose we can take that as read when a guy changes his name to Metta World Peace.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

A little out of touch? How about a lot? With a bad owner, a numbers guy as GM, no first round draft pick and the cap situation, Knicks are light years away from a title.

40 point loss at home to Boston, and the Celtics were laughing on the bench.......sigh
