Hmm, strange move. Isn't Van Exel still on the Warriors team? Didn't Fisher say he was going to go somewhere where he could start? I guess he's just jumping ship a la Payton wanted to do.

Now LA needs a backup PG too. :bday: Keeps getting better and better don't it?

Good move by the Warriors though, but isn't Speedy already backing up Nick? I'm confused...why? :?

well that's what I'm saying. It's going to be a trade or something happening

Yes! Goodbye D-Fish, I won't miss you.

If Payton stays (is he?) he'll get his minutes.

when did you say that?

To my knowledge, Fish can't be traded until December 15th. However, I'm betting my money that NVE will be in a Dallas uniform before the end of this upcoming season, although I think it's going to happen before the start. Lattner can't be traded until I believe September 15th, but here's the deal I was thinking about

NVE and Damp for Walker and Lattner

It works under the cap, DAL gets their PG and clutch scorer, along with a defensive center whose not a stiff. Meanwhile the Warriors get cap relief and a temporary star...

There is no way the Warriors are going to pay 3 pg's that much money...they overpaid for Fisher to start with, but that's something else.

It's in an interesting move by the Warriors?...they got 3 point guards now? Odd move by Fisher too. I think Fisher would have a better opportunity on a team like Houston who needs a starting point guard. Somebody on the Warriors will be on the trade block.

But what if the Lakers are down by a point in a game with 0.4 seconds left?

ummm...good for Fish.

I dont know much about where places are but is Golden State anywhere near Little Rock???

Fri Jul 16, 2004 6:20 pm

i thought fisher want to be lakers in whole career. the decision of payton to stay in lakers make fisher to opt and be a free agent.

but why GS? why not other team who needs more of his skill and be the starting PG?

"The Golden State" is a nickname for the state of California. The Warriors are located in Oakland, California. Little Rock is the capital of the state of Arkansas (in the central part of the continental US). Hope that helps. :)

I wouldn't be surprised to see NVE become an ex-Warrior before the offseason is through so Fish would probably stand a good chance at starting. I thought that he would remain a Laker, though.

Nah, I don't bamboozle my team just cuz they suck. I scream, yell, vent frustration, but I'll be supporting em. Unlike some folks that just drop the team cuz they picked one kid over the other. j/k. :P

Van Exel is probably on the trading block given they cannot trade Fish away. Wouldn't make sense either...still a silly move on his part I think.

Houston was open for taking..

Why would they trade Van Exel, and sign Fisher? Van Exel is a better player than Fisher is at this point in their careers. Van Exel can score at will. He's clutch too. We'll have to see how good Fisher is on a less talented team.

Van Exel has been getting injured too often. Probably that's the promise the Warriors made to Fisher, lol.

Sat Jul 17, 2004 4:41 am

NVE wasn't able to perform like he did two years ago with Dallas. He's upset at the Warriors management right now and did state that he wanted to be in a "Texas" uniform. I think it's either Dallas or Houston.

Sat Jul 17, 2004 8:08 am

I think Dallas would be the best fit for Van Exel if he were to get traded to a Texas team...especiall with Nash gone. Not too sure how it would work out with McGrady in Houston though.

maybe Dampier+VNE for Walker and a couple other players might work out

He's upset, wants out, and has a fat contract.

i don't understand why Dallas traded NVE in the first place... or why GS traded their best player. Both teams suffered as a result of the trade.

Go D Fish!
He will alwyas be remembered by me...the first player i liked because he shot a three in a play-off game a few years ago....

Good Luck to him!

Oh yeah- is it true Fisher used to be able to dunk but some kind of accident in college made him lose his hops?
