My homie NovU, troll shadow & sevin0seven. I feel bad because I also have respect for the first one. But only destruction for the 2nd one. 3rd one I don't know.

LoL SoF'nAwesome. I hate to tell you but you're in the worst division possible. I'm a defending champ. Grin is a veteran with shit load of experience. sevin0seven was one of the most fearsome contenders last season(he had both KD & LBJ!) whom I eliminated in the semi-finals.
This means, given only 6 teams make the playoffs with 4 top teams from each conference, you need to come at least second in our div with excellent record.

One more to fill out my division

How the fudge did he get both Durant & Bron? And how did you eliminate him?
Sat Oct 05, 2013 3:02 pm
He got one of those two via trade. It cost him depth though I think he won in that trade.
I'd say my team was most stacked and balanced with under-appreciated but prolific stat fillers.

I think the David Bowie Sensei roster was the most solid one there.

I prefer to be called a former champion.
Looking at last year's rosters NovU got nice players who had a breakout or productive year.
Steph Curry was healthy.
Deng did a lot in the absence of Rose.
Ibaka gave great rebs. blks. and HOLY CRAP DAT 3PT% FROM A BIGMAN, and FTs.
Cousins when his head is on.
Got a steal in Pekpek.
Batum.

you can't always win with star players, you win with depth and balance. fantasy basketball is all about stats player can give you night in, night out. so if you only have two or three great players giving you high stats but the other players barely, then don't expect to win much. i got the number#1 pick on the draft, so i got Lebron. I got Durantula via trade. though my team got a little better, it wasn't enough to win the big one.

hey bro, is there a way to move this draft before or after this date? i'll be in a wedding on this day.

Thanks. Kobe and Carmelo's injuries cost me a lot in the finals. Otherwise I'd have a chance against NovU.
Sun Oct 06, 2013 5:58 am
ATTENTION: Only 1 spot open before the 16 teams are set. after that, we will need a group of 4 to join at the same time to get them in.
SoF'nAwesome wrote:I think the David Bowie Sensei roster was the most solid one there.
meh. My team (Jeremy Lin Bandwagon) was only 2.5 games back from making the playoffs behind David Bowie. They just had a lot of big names which doesn't always translate to winning fantasy.

Yeah depth is very important in this league with so many teams, every spot counts which is cool strategically, because there are few leagues like that

I am open to changing it if a majority of people can agree to a new time. as with all drafts, I'd like to get a time where most people can join in live, but it's impossible to get all 16 people in a live draft, especially with different countries and time zones

I'm fine with changing the day and time. I'll do my best to be there, I'm hoping things around the office will be quieter by then.

I'm guessing nope, patch release.

really? a rivalry between us? lol
Q-
does yahoo allow to customize the playoff schedule? ie- have the playoffs start earlier? say like weeks 21-23 instead 22-24?

They do. I think this is a bigger issue in the NFL with star players sitting out at the end. I don't remember many players getting benched at the end of the last NBA season
Sun Oct 06, 2013 10:49 pm
actually it is a yearly issue. even the fantasy "experts" devote columns identifying early shut down candidates towards the end the season.
so how about a playoff starting earlier?
Mon Oct 07, 2013 6:25 am
That's a good point. I'm for it.
Mon Oct 07, 2013 8:05 am
I think we should. Players like Wade, LeBron, Duncan all went into maintenance mode and it makes people hesitant to draft them or keep them toward the end of the season. KD and Melo still went at it only because scoring title was on the line and seeding wasn't clear for the Thunder. With current playoffs schedule, it's usual for superstars to be useless toward the end.
As for the last spot, how about somebody PM airBerlin. Heck I will do it myself.
Mon Oct 07, 2013 9:45 am
Oh wow, you guys started up quick. Yeah, I want to play if there's a spot open.
Thanks for the PM, NovU.
Edit: I joined ! ;D
Mon Oct 07, 2013 5:47 pm
Cool. Now I'm ready to be the next champion.
Anyway, our draft date will stay the same, right?

how about...
Oct. 12th, 5:15pm? (Sat)
Oct. 13th , 5:15pm? (Sun)
Oct. 19th, 5:15pm? (Sat)
Oct. 26th, 5:15pm? (Sat)
Oct. 27th, 5:15pm? (Sun)
any one of those date is fine with me. how about you guys?
Tue Oct 08, 2013 1:58 am
I don't have problem with any of the dates. But which timezone are you referring to?
Tue Oct 08, 2013 2:13 am
I suggest that former champions be given the privilege of picking the draft schedule and the rest of the losers can vote on the given options by the champs.
I'm fine with any time so whichever among NovU, Nick, and airgordon's draft schedule suggestions are favored by the rest of the losers then we pick that.
