Here we go again, people complaining about ratings. it doesnt matter about how high the ratings are out the box. You dont know how the player will play based off his rating. They could be good at certain things and bad at other just like in real life. Stop the bickering over something so small. They also have dynamic rosters which means they will update the ratings every chance they get. My My Player had a nice rating but he played not so good in most areas. Stop saying Jordan should only have a 99 rating. Thats for his era, not this era. Lebron is the best player in the league, so the he gets the highest ratings, everyone else he measured based of that.

I think lebron should be 98

, Bennette 76

& Oladipo

76 are too high and Cody Zeller 68

is low for me.

Another 3:
Carmelo Anthony 92
Nerlens Noel 72
Monta Ellis 82
* I honestly thought Melo would at least be at 94, I guess the defensive ratings brought his overall rating down.

Where I can check out nba live 14 ratings?
Can't or will likely never be able to, even after the game is out... because NBA Live sounds like they took player ratings out of the game, and replaced them with a stats kind of system

They didn't remove ratings. They've revamped them and replaced as many subjective ratings as possible. Players will still have individual and overall ratings.

Oh Ok. That made more sense.... haha this whole time I thought they took away ratings completely.

Lebron 99????
That's BLASFEMY! ONLY MJ CAN REACH A 99... Although the King is at the top of his shape and life... Just can't fit this on my mind.

I like how ronnie pretends to be cool or friends with the players asking for their ratings.

99 is the highest rating possible in-game right? I'm pretty sure if a 100 rating was possible, they'd give that to LeBron.

Why are people saying that some players rating should be 2 - 3 points down or up. Thats pathetic. Does anyone know how ratings work. I guess not. Certain attributes makes the players ratings go up or down more than others. Also the ratings arent set they are going to change through the season. Plus you wont even notice the couple of points difference. Everyone should know that by now.

You all do realize that the overall rating has no impact on the gameplay, right? The only purpose it serves is to give the game a single, simple measure of a player's ability, which is obviously a part of his market value. Other than that, it's all about the attributes. The overall rating is just an imperfect calculation of all the attributes to one number and it depends on position, too.
The overall rating doesn't represent a player all that well. Dirk Nowitzki is a perfect example of that: his overall rating would usually be a little low (and by low, I mean low-mid 80s), but he played exactly like he should have - a lethal scorer, mediocre defender and decent defensive rebounder. The overall for a power forward doesn't give outside shooting too much attention (whether that's correct or not is another story) and of course everybody starts bitching about Dirk's low overall. Next thing you know, 2K bumps up his overall in their roster updates by overrating his defense, rebounding, etc. so that all those dipshits would just shut the hell up already.
Attributes is what you should be looking at because that's what matters. Until you see those, you have no way of knowing if a player is rated accurately or not. Well, unless they gave Evan Turner a 95 overall - then you already know something's wrong. But all I see is "this guy has a 75 overall? that's stupid, he should have 74!"... are you fucking serious?
I know that 2K's rosters always have flaws (some of Thad Young's defensive attributes are way too low, for instance), but until you get your hands on the game, look at the attributes and point out which ones are wrong, you're just making yourself look dumb by complaining about the overall being a point or two too high, especially when we have no idea what the exact overall rating formula is for each position.

I guess 2K have guys who take notes on particular skills & reaction on players throughout the whole season. One guy for each team maybe...?

it is true, but not all.
I cant use Dirk as an example, because in my roster hes 85 overall(in next season i will give him 83 probably)and i cant talk about how 2k ratings formula works, but i never pump ratings by pumping rating which shud not be pumped. So overall u got right but in details u wrong, because we just dont want to see high scorer with overall 80. btw. its all true, player with rating 80 an easily score 25p/g playin in poor team. If we go futher, we will see that score depends on player tendencies and his teamates tendencies, if he will be high tendency shooter and whole team below average he will be high scorer(maybe with poor % but always). So its more complicated. We all know overalls are just overalls, but in some way it gives you information about player play quality. This is what we talk about here(me for sure). So if i see Dwight Howard at 92 or 94 im 100% sure that he will be beast in offence, because his shooting ratings, offensive awarnesss must be high set. Talking and arguing about +1, -1 have no sense and its simple stupid, but talking about +5,-5 makes sense for me, but what i know.
