MILWAUKEE — Center Larry Sanders has signed his contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, general manager John Hammond confirmed Tuesday.
Sanders and the Bucks reached agreement on a four-year, $44 million deal, with only the final details to be settled.
The new contract will take effect in the 2014-15 season and run through the 2017-18 season.
The 24-year-old Sanders will make $3 million next season in the final year of his rookie-scale contract but will be paid $11 million per year during the extension.

He seems to be coming into his own now that he's getting more minutes, a shade under a double-double last year with almost three blocks per game and at 24, he still has the potential to get better. Given the tendency for bigs who are at least solid/serviceable to be at least slightly overpaid, I think it's a reasonable contract.

He's better than DeAndre Jordan that's for sure.

I'm still bit skeptical. Does his offense have much room to grow? How far can his defense take him in this league?
(I admit I haven't really watched him enough to evaluate his game)

He needs to play more minutes, he averaged below 30 i guess... He has potential

First time I glanced at the blocks per game stats this past season, I was shocked that Sanders was leading the league and had over three per game averaging less than 30 minutes a game. I wonder what he'd be able to do in 30 minutes...

Surprisingly good move for the Bucks. Sanders is an elite defensive player and innocuous at worst on the other end. He would have likely gotten a max offer sheet next summer so good at on the Bucks to lock up their best player through his prime.

Reliable big men are rare, so I tend to agree with Lamrock, Sanders might could have aimed for a even bigger contract next season. Good signing.
