On a side note I am not betraying Miami even if I become a Celtics fan, but I stated clear in the past that I am more of a players fan than a particular team fan. Arison and Rile are great but my Heat fandom started with Wade and to this date. Just means I will be rooting hard for any team that drafts Wiggins. It also doesn't mean I will forever stay a said player's fan. Heck, I used to be a Kobe fan but he gradually lost me after realization kicked in.

I know. Same for me, just LeBron instead of Wade. But you are not from Miami, nor am I which was the point. Look at sauru, the guy will stay a Celtic forever mainly because it's his city. And that's how fandom works, you either are a guy of that city or you have been following a particular player or just the tradition of players. Miller ultimately couldn't resist the chance to return for a second stint in Memphis, where he has kept a home since playing for the Grizzlies

Miller's has back problems, will probably need/have surgery at some point.
It's better to sign with the team that's close to home where while recovering you can be with the team and the family.

It's more about the comfort of being close to your family and workplace at this point in your career > championship since he already has 2 of it.

It's not odd. Miller already has achieved two of the goals of most NBA players, getting good pay and winning a championship and he already did that last one twice. It's not hard to understand that he wants the most comfortable situation for him now that his body is breaking down that might end his NBA career.

But I shouldn't really be understating Memphis like this. If Miller is healthy, Randolph & Marc play like they played last season and there are some breaks, they just might make it to the finals.

Miller is amazing shooting guy he will take all of his good experience and become starter now in the Memphis city because he well rested from last year. Our Miami has so much deepness on the bench that he didnt get a chance but now he is miracle with his recovery and will just start in Memphis. It a shame he not sign with OKC but who knows they have Marc & Randolph and Miller now so if they plays well they get to the finals and then Miami will sweep them LOL!!

Great signing for the Grizzlies. Griz are considered 2nd tier ring contender behind OKC, SAS, or even LAC but Miller definitely upgrades them.

Certainly a solid pickup for the Grizzlies if he's able to withstand a couple more seasons, playing any kind of significant minutes. As I said before, the Heat's depth allowed him to play somewhat sparingly during the course of the season, even when he was in the starting lineup, most likely leaving him notably fresher and less beaten up than most come the postseason.
