Re: Bucks offer $36 million over three years to Monta Ellis

Meantime, for Jennings...
According to beat writer Gery Woelfel, the Bucks are "still looking at other PGs" and Brandon Jennings is not a lock to return to Milwaukee.
Jennings hasn't received the lucrative offer sheet he expected as a restricted FA, and there is increasing speculation that he'll accept the Bucks' one-year qualifying offer to test the market again next summer. The well may be poisoned for Jennings in Milwaukee, however, and it's too early to rule out a sign-and-trade. Woelfel doesn't offer any potential trade partners and the situation remains murky at best.

Jennings's really getting no love.

Jennings sucks. I wouldn't spend more than 5 mio/year on this guy.

I think he's got too much talent to say that he flat out sucks, but he's inefficient and it's very questionable as to whether he can be a franchise player or a dependable second or third player, so it's understandable that they're looking elsewhere.

Jennings is an offensive and defensive liability.
As you've said, he has got a lot of talent but like other talented but undisciplined guys he's just wasting it most of the time. E.g. Jennings could be a much more capable defender as he has been over the last two years. His shot selection is questionable at best and he seems to be like a very bad copy of AI sometimes. Even if his shots keep missing he doesn't concentrate on distributing the ball that much. That's why I think he sucks. And that's why I can't stand J.R. Smith sometimes too...

He should just watch this vid and turn around his game. I don't get how you can be so talented and have guys breaking down your game and you still don't manage to change this stuff. It's not like he is not good enough, he just plays the wrong way. Dammit.

I feel about the same for Jennings. I guess coaching staff and management also failed in that regard. Unprovable but perhaps it's fair to say certain franchises are just better at developing the talent?

More likely, some players just never "get it". Jennings is only 23 though, so there's still time if the right coach presents themselves and he's willing to listen and learn.

It's also funny because I thought Tyreke and Monta aren't much better but they at least got paid respectfully this offseason.

Tyreke is underrated because he was playing for the worst franchise since the day he came into the league. The Kings just do an incredibly poor job of getting anything out of their players and develop them.

Monta is just as inefficient as Jennings, but I "guess" (no real prove for that) he is still the more reliable scorer. But if you ask me, and I dont say that because I am a Mav, Ellis is not that overpaid. A few years ago he would have gotten a near to max contract. Times have changed though, teams are more intelligent (except the Bucks, they offered 12M$ for Monta iirc), a development that I really appreciate.

True. All of them had situations and reasons.

It'll be really interesting this season. I can't wait already.
