Kyle Korver receiving interest in returning to the team
The Atlanta Hawks have let Kyle Korver know that they want to re-sign him in free agency this offseason, and the interest in staying together is mutual.
“They said they would like to work something out, so we’ll talk in July,” Korver said. “I really enjoyed my year here in Atlanta. I enjoyed the team. I enjoyed the organization. I believe (general manager) Danny Ferry is going to do some great things here. I think he has a great opportunity to bring in guys who are going to play fun basketball.
“You know the vision he has. You know the kind of basketball that he likes to watch, and I think he’s going to bring in those types of guys, and I like the same basketball that he likes. So, I’m very open to coming back here.”
Korver, obtained in last offseason's trade with the Chicago Bulls, will become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Tony Allen hopes to Re-Sign with the Memphis Grizzlies
Tony Allen is an unrestricted free agent, but the 31-year-old defensive specialist would prefer to remain with the Memphis Grizzlies.
"I don't even understand the business side," Allen said. "When July hits, somebody is going to have to sit me down and explain it. All I know is I'm a Grizzly and I believe I'm going to be a Grizzly when it's over with.
"I bleed blue. I think they going to keep me. But if they don't, I understand.
"I don't even think about it now. I just play. I love being in Memphis. I love the city. Hopefully I stay here. It feels like home."
Allen is earning a reported $3.3 million this season.
Dallas Mavericks to trade pick or draft overseas player
Mark Cuban admitted on Saturday that the Dallas Mavericks could end up trading or stashing their pick in this year's NBA draft.
To prevent the player's $1.66 million against the salary cap, the Mavericks might draft a player "to stash overseas somewhere," Cuban said.
"If you look at this like a two-year plan, then we think we're on track to have a great team by the end of next year," Cuban said.

Hawks have always been lacking a star, so if you dont want to sign one its tough to rebuild imho.

NBA DRAFT 2013: The Invisible Stars
This years draft was very stocked with quality players. It's very hard to say that each team will get a star but its easy to say that each team will get the player they needed. We wont know whose the star till years from this draft.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
1. Toronto Raptors Select Nerlens Noel, Center/Forward, Kentucky
Not surprising at all since he was the projected number one pick. He draws comparisons to Larry Sanders who has become a premier shot blocker in this league. Its a mystery to how the raptors will use him with a lineup consisting of Lowry-Derozan-Gay-Bargnani-Valanciunas. This is the best pick toronto could have gone with
2. Charlotte Hornets Select Cody Zeller, Forward/Center, Indiana
This selection gives the hornets a big man that can actually play the post. He will have to battle Haywood and Biyombo out for their spot but i see Cody doing that with ease.
3. Orlando Magic Select Anthonny Bennett, Forward, UNLV
Can't have to much forwards right? This selection might spell the end for Hedo Turkoglu's tenure with the Orlando Magic. Anthony Bennett is a bit of tweener but with this team will most likely bounce around both forward positions. Bennett brings rebounding aplenty to this team.
4. Boston Celtics Select Shabazz Muhammad, Small Forward, UCLA
Paul Pierce say hello to your apprentice. At the beginning of the year shabazz was recalled as one of the best in the draft but recent shooting woes drop caused teams to doubt his overall ability as well. He wil develop into a fine player under Doc Rivers
5. Detroit Pistons Select Dario Saric,Small Forward, Croatia
The Pistons are desperately trying garner some magic from the draft with this selection. Its a bit of a reach because he is not used to the style of american ball and because he is seen as the more developmental pick. He can become a young Peja when he develops
6.Memphis Grizzlies Select Otto Porter, Small Forward, Georgetown
Grizzlies look to replace Gay with a young forward who has a similar play style. With veteran Tayshaun Prince already in place look for Otto hear to learn a lot from the old timer.
7.Brooklyn Nets Select Ben Mclemore, Shooting Guard, Kansas
Presumably the best guard in the draft the nets get a steal because he shouldve been taken higher in the draft. The only downside to this pick is Brooklyn's rotation. Where does Mclemore fit with Joe Johnson and Marshon Brooks?
8.Phoenix Suns Select Steven Adams, Center, Pittsburgh
A perfect fit for the backup center position. Steven Adams brings a lot of tools to the table for the suns to exploit. He will need to add some muscle in the wait room to endure the pain of the post.
9.Utah Jazz Select Deshaun Thomas, Small Forward, Ohio State
Sleeper.....
Thomas has some skills that need to be developed but when they are he can be very deadly in this league
10.Portland Trail Blazers Select Dennis Schroeder, Point Guard, Germany
Adds much needed to the backcourt of Damien Lillard and Wesley Matthews. With Nolan Smith not being brought back to the team dennis fits right in.
11.New Orleans Pelicans Select Rudy Gobert, Center/Power Forward, France
This selection spells the end for Robin Lopez and his starting position. Robin Lopez is solid but he is only solid when coming off of the bench. Rudy Gobert adds needed toughness and a inside presence for a big man depleted team.
12.Dallas Mavericks Select Michael Carter-Williams, Point Guard, Syracuse
Mavs added a much needed point guard that can command the team. Michael will need to show to Mavs that he is ready to command the team and take Collisons spot as the starter.
13.Cleveland Cavaliers Select Trey Burke, Point Guard, Michigan
Even though Burke was regarded as the best PG in the draft im questioning the selection for the cavs. Their most glaring need was a Small Forward with versatility
14.Los Angeles Clippers Select Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Shooting Guard, Georgia
Excellent pick as Pope adds much needed slashing ability to the depleted Clippers.
15.Atlanta Hawks Select Victor Oladipo, Shooting Guard, Indiana
Projected to go a plethora of spots before this pick, defensive specialist finds a nice home in atlanta. He is expected to take the role that deshawn stevenson had on this team the previous season.
16.Atlanta Hawks Select Gorgui Dieng, Center, Louisville
Poor mans Larry Sanders or a Rich Mans Dwight Howard. Depending on his development Dieng can become a solid center in this league.
17.TRADE San Antonio Trades 1st Round Pick #17 and Nando De Colo for Cleveland Cavaliers Trey Burke and 2nd round pick #12
Cleveland Selects Mike Muscala, Center, Bucknell
18.Indiana Pacers Select Shane Larkin, Point Guard, Miami
This selection gives the pacers depth in their backcourt pending the departure of Dj Augustin. Shane Larkin will fit in with 2nd unit and gel quickly in the pacers organization
19.Milwaukee Bucks Select Myck Kabongo, Point Guard, Texas
Brandon Jennings say hello to your replacement.
20.Minnesota Timberwolves Select Alex Len, Center, Maryland
With the pending departure of Nikola Pekovic almost Inevitable the timberwolves look to replace him with a solid big man with decent game that can develop into the next star center in the future
21.Denver Nuggets Select Allen Crabbe, Shooting Guard, California
Crabbe is a decent shooter and a above average competitor that can bring out the best of the 2nd unit of the Nuggets
22. New York Knicks Select Ray McCallum, Point Guard, Detroit
23.Washington Wizards Select Tony Mitchell, Forward, Georgia Tech
A much needed depth selection here for the wizards. Wizards have no depth outside this first round pick selection.
24.Sacramento Kings Select Assandro Gentile, Small Forward, Italy
25.Los Angeles Lakers Select Reggie Bullock
Bye Bye Ron Artest oh i mean Metta.
26.Golden State Warriors Select Glen Rice Jr. Shooting Guard, Georgia Tech
Son of former NBA great Glen Rice, plays similar to his dad so look to expect greatness
27.Philadelphia 76ers Select CJ Mcollum Shooting Guard, Lehigh
28.Chicago Bulls Select Sergey Karassev Shooting Guard, Russia
Time to give old Rip Hamilton legs a rest
29.Oklahoma City Thunder Select Kelly OIynyk, Gonzaga
Let the nice hair in a thunder uniform era begin
30. Miami Heat Select Mason Plumlee, Forward/Center, Duke
He may not be a traditional center but he has the potential to transform into one for the Miami Heat.

Hawks have traded their starting center for two players that add good veteran presence to this young Hawks team. The Hawks can now interchange Horford at the 4 and 5 using West at the 4 for his mid-range jumper. In return the Dallas Mavericks get a rebounding menace to become their starting center and Dirk to return to playing the 4. UDFA Jeff Withey will take on Tiago role as he departs. Tony Snell adds his mid range game and versatility to the Mavs.
