Nothing the patch does should cause that, from a technical standpoint there's nothing it does differently from previous releases. Strange.

yeah thats what i was thinking.... very strange..... it started happening after i installed the roster though wich i can understand why..... might be a coincidence though..... its irritating because i cant finish the players needed for the team release i cant understand what would make it crash...... im using the cd its a legal copy.....

I guess try a fresh install without the roster installed and see if it still happens. If it works fine without the roster installed that's a mystery though, I can't imagine how the roster would be causing that.

ok so i did yet another fresh install and manually installed all the updates i wanted and now my game works.... i did the roster only install of the roster update....

By all means, it's a tried and true phrase.

To be a little more specific though, hopefully sometime this week, now that the Playoffs have started. There are a few transactions to account for and a couple of new players to add, but it certainly won't be as much work as getting the initial release for this season done.

If you want i can try and whip out the playoffs backboards if you want to add to your rosters?

can i ask a question. when i was looking at my sgsm i saw a cyberface of obama and snoop dogg and my question is there any more special character in the cyberface ? so i can create them in my nba live 08 ?

Only if you have the time and inclination. I'd certainly welcome getting as many new art updates into the next version (especially as I'm not sure how many more releases I'll be doing), so if you can that'd be great, if not no worries.

They're left over from the LIVE JAM mod. There's probably a couple of others in there, Jay-Z and Kanye West are two others that I can recall off the top of my head.

No, there's plenty of 2x updates in the rosters, though there shouldn't be any crashes. I've included the fix Dc311 devised, which resolved crashes in all of my tests.

Yeah, I don't quite understand what's going on from that description. If it's a matter of missing art though, please consult the included Art Troubleshooting.txt file for directions.

I registered in this forum just to say thank you, to update the game NBA LIVE 08.
I have the original game, and it was gathering dust, then i see that my game had this update.
I installed it again, then i installed this update, and now I'm having so much fun.
Also I registered to ask you to please go on with this work, at least just for the latest version of NBA live for PC (08) cause there are many people who have original, or do not have the requirements to play the games of the last years. Million Thanks again for this work.

Just updating NBA Live 08 isn't a viable solution. Converting the rosters for use with NBA Live 2005-07 is a reasonably quick and easy process, it's getting NBA Live 08 up to date in the first place that has become a very time consuming chore. If I'm not going to do roster updates anymore, I won't be doing them for any games. I won't be scaling back to just one or two, especially not my least favourite game in the series.

I would hope that if there's interest, someone would continue the rosters in my stead and I can provide various resources to help out with that. I'm just pretty burned out on the roster updates after doing them for so many years, fewer people are playing the older games and there are other matters (both here on the site and in my personal life) that must take priority.
