You seem to care quite a bit for a guy declaring not minding nor caring. When you actually mind and care, I think I will fear you.
Mon Apr 01, 2013 11:39 am
LeBron, Chalmers, and Wade sat out like bitches but Bosh didn't. And this is what happened.

When I say I don't mind nor care, I mean I'm fine with teams seating their stars out as part of the strategy to keep them healthy. What pisses me off is fans making lame excuses for the team, or even worse, the team making up injuries for the players instead of straight-up saying "we're keeping them off the floor". What? Do you fear Stern's going to fine you or something?
So, Popovich pulls a Popovich, Spoelstra pulls a Popovich, and in the end the Heat win both games. You see, that's why San Antonio will keep improving the most consecutive seasons with 50+ wins record, but will never have nice things.

It might be to satisfy some asinine league rule, though you do sometimes see "DNP - Rest" in the boxscores, so presumably that would be sufficient.
Mon Apr 01, 2013 12:47 pm
Those lame excuses been happening each and every year for last several decades. I don't see why anyone should suddenly act out and start going ape shit about it now. The teams routinely always have and always will do the same for meaningless games. If that gets you pissed off, stay away from NBA games at the end of the season.

Pop tried with "DNP - Old" and "DNP - Old Age" and rumor was that the league did not approve.
The "loophole" is that they can rest players for any reason because every player is "injured" in some manner. Basically every player in the NBA has plantar fasciitis simply because of the sport, that's why every bench warmer ever has always suddenly had it flare up when someone else was ready to come off the IR. The league eventually dumped this fiction with the change to the inactive list but they're still paranoid that fans (or more like corporate partners and sponsors) will freak out if LeBron or Duncan isn't playing.
Not doing a "DNP - Coach's Decision" allows the coach to pretend like yes, yes, he really wanted to win this late season game (and the player did too being a hard working Life Scholar-Athlete) but those damn doctors and trainers just wouldn't let him!

LOL! What a troll by the Heat to both the league and a f-u to the Spurs who did that to them before. And they won.

Bosh not superstar confirmed:
Tue Apr 02, 2013 3:13 am
lmfao, just a star I guess.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:21 am
Mario Chalmers officially is one of Heat's trio.
Tue Apr 02, 2013 9:31 am
Seems Chris Bosh is a magnet for backhanded compliments.

Nah man. Andersen in the Big 3 now

Keep your eyes on DAL vs LAL. This is gonna be a big one.
Wed Apr 03, 2013 12:55 pm
Got up for the game despite it being 5 a.m. here. Hope it's worth it.
/edit: doesn't look like it's worth it. You cant win when you give up 18 offensive boards. Dallas' rebounding just sucks too much.
Wed Apr 03, 2013 3:28 pm
Lakers win this one. Kobe with the triple-double and Dwight with some missed freethrows.
EDIT: Wow Dwight had a better FT Shooting % than Dirk in this game.
Wed Apr 03, 2013 4:57 pm
Damn. Looks like it's 2 way race for 8th spot from here on. Expected more fire from Mavericks but I guess that's it for them this season.
Wed Apr 03, 2013 10:24 pm
The Jazz and the Mavs both have the Nuggets up next too. I wouldn't put it past either of them to come up with an upset. I'd say Utah has more of a chance to beat them, since they're not going to be playing at Denver. And the Lakers have the Grizzlies next at Staples I think. A part of me wants to see Grizzlies lose so the Nuggets have more breathing room at the 3rd seed, but I could never back the Lakers officially. It's going to be interesting to see how it all pans out.
Thu Apr 04, 2013 4:03 pm
I am guessing Ty Lawson won't be back till playoffs. In any case, losing that third seed will be big because the Nuggets might face Grizzlies(or Clippers) instead of Warriors.
Thu Apr 04, 2013 5:18 pm
Warriors are not be under-rated in anyway. I imagine them as the dark horse in the playoffs.
Thu Apr 04, 2013 6:03 pm
#6 is still up for grabs. Only a game behind the Warriors. This is gonna be interesting for HOU and GSW.
Fri Apr 05, 2013 5:41 am
Man, I so hope GSW finished #6, 'cause then it would be OKC vs HOU...only if SAS do their bit tomorrow though.
Fri Apr 05, 2013 11:10 am
I feel like Warriors have that mix in their roster that will help them be a championship caliber team soon. They have a big guy that is dominant defensively and adept offensively when healthy and a rookie that is only supposed to get better if not even be one of the better SFs in the league in the coming years. They have a solid bench too. I think they just have a lot of the right mix and if things align just right they can be the dark asshole to win it all in the near future

COUPLE THOUGHTS ON TONIGHT'S GAMES
Denver just can't get a break. Gallinari's injury looked pretty bad. Not sure how serious it is but they already have two starters down. Wow. This sucks especially after that awesome winning streak. I really hope to see everyone back healthy for the playoffs.
Exciting game in BKN. Boozer just bullied BKN's frontcourt. Deron and Lopez looked unstoppable in early game but CHI hung in there and stole the game at the end.

This team with Rose and Noah will be pretty sick.
Fri Apr 05, 2013 1:12 pm
Don't know about Noah but you aren't going to see a sick Bulls team because of Rose this season
