exrxixxx NET PHYSICS, UPDATE

Tue Mar 05, 2013 4:41 am

This is an absolutelly minor adjustment to gamedata.iff file which gives pretty decent result to the net physics.

The main changes to default physics are :
- net is not jumping over the rim so high and often and personally for me it is much closer to real life physics than default net has.

***
Intallation notes:
Paste gamedata.iff to the main NBA2K13 directory

You may also gain the same effect to net physics by changing just few values in your own file (this could be important if you use modded gamedata.iff with other updates)

Offset
14CC6C - change next values to - FF 00 FF 44
153D6C - change next values to - FF 00 FF 44

Offset
14CC6C - change next values to - FF 00 00 45

No. That was not an idea to modify anything else than net physics.

If you want without icons - download somebody's "no-icons gamedata.iff" and modify hex values as described above

You have to substitute values, not to insert them.
And you can do it only to modded file. If it is not modded yet you have to decompress it first or use the link I gave on the first post.

There are absolutely no steps to show you, use your intuition and try few more times. It is not harder than to write a message here.
There are tons of tutorial about hex editing at NLSC and google

Yea just logged onto YouTube and saw Jao post up a new vid and got re directed to this thread, thanks a lot for this, I personally and a lot of others have been waiting for this for months. Michael Lutz released his stiff net physics the other month but he did it without icons, and we all been waiting for one with the icons....

Thanks man, cool stuff.

BTW, your gamedata is the 2k default one only with net physics?

It is default 2K file with the next changes:
- changed only these hex values that are described in the first post.
- imported custom next texture (I think it is from 2K12 by Michael, but it does not affect physics, you may have any texture of the net)

The net is a solid body: the ball seems to permeates.

possible?

in the game it probably looks more realistic

Another thing I noticed is the nets on both rims seem to be moving in the game, even when no shots are taken. They should be still, otherwise the movement when the ball goes through is great.
