How to lose your save with an underscore

Apparently I added an underscore in my roster save outside the game and low and behold, when i saved it, two scenarios happened:

First, it didn't say save successful and when I reload the save option, its gone...
Second time, it simply crashed...

Took me a couple of days to deduce it, but I'm sure it was the underscore... Its funny coz i almost didnt make a backup...

Yeah, I had found that out back in 2K11 I think, and never thought I should post it. Definitely some great file handling on 2K's part there. Thanks for bringing it up though.

I'm pretty sure I had encountered the same problem before. The problem doesn't just involve underscores, but a few other non-alphanumeric symbols as well, like maybe parentheses and apostrophes. Just sharing.
