My personal wishlist for NBA live 08 , is it possible?

here are my wishlist :

- 3pt shot will go in even if it is well contested depending on the momentum of the shot,coming off a nice pass or situational.
- Better ball simulation.
- Tear drop shot will be the default shot when you press the lay-up/dunk button far the rim replacing he awkward looking shot that has no chance at all of getting in.
- Player's reactions after getting a basket.

1. Nope. Shooting in NBA Live 08 still ultimately comes down to a "dice roll" based on player ratings, the timing of the release and proximity of the defense. That's how it's programmed.

(better ball simulation)what i mean is whenever you take a wide open shot the ball will not just enter the rim flawlessly( it can bounce through the rim b4 getting in or the ball will circumnavigate through the rim) , just try figuring it out , my vocabulary is not as fluent as yours ..

No, I don't believe we can edit rim physics.

Hi i just wonderin if you could put or change the music every intro, time out and end of the game. i mean like the espn or nba on nbc theme etc.. is it possible??! thanks

there is a patch which is called "real game atmosphere" , i think thats what u are looking for.

Whether or not this occurs after a basket or not is unclear to me, however, I'm certain that it may be because sometimes a fellow teammate would cheer or show some form of emotion. Similar situations happen in NBA Live 2003, after a basket it sometimes triggers a little "celebration" from the player who scored.

There is indeed a CELEBPACK attribute in the database. As far as adding new ones or making them like 2K's, that's not possible.

I don't wanna sound rude but I don't see any reason to consistently play NBA Live 08. About your wishlist, the game has definitely reached the 99.9% of its potential through modding.

I would tend to agree with that.

I also would, however, I feel it may be our lack of understanding of the game itself. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the knowledge in the wiki is very helpful to some extent. I sure would have liked some kind of "construction kit" to aid us. I seriously would love to have another PC Live, even if it were some ps2 port. The community for Live on PC seems to have a lower-tier strength in terms of computing tech, I am very curious and maybe even anxious to find out if running a Live game (like 09 for ps2) on an emulator (like that PSX2 or whatever) would make it possible to look into the data and extract or convert files to fit the format on PC. Even then it probably wouldn't work. I can dream though.

It's interesting from a programmer's point of view. But it's not worth the gain. I can't understand why people still play Live 08 (except if they have low-end pcs). If they can afford PCs and internet connections, they surely can afford a new game after 6 seasons...

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have enough money to buy a new game.And from what I do understand,some play the game at internet cafe's or somewhere other than their home.So don't be quick to judge.

I highly doubt it. We've had some very talented, knowledgeable and creative people working on creating updates since the game came out over five years ago. We've pretty much done all we can with it and it's still one of the worst games in the series with its assortment of bugs and issues.

I agree on this one, even i got all the basketball game series from Live 2003-08 and 2k10-13, but why am i still have Live 2003, 2006 and 2008 installed in my computer? because i still like it and i really appreciate all the people here who dedicates and makes this game better with there updates! Yes my 2k12 and 2k13 have a very good graphics and game play, and way better than old Live series, but just like what Dc311 said not everyone can afford new game every year, so that is why they keep on playing this game because they have no choice.

That's why I said "except if they have low-end PCs". If you can't afford a game or an internet connection then you can't afford consistently going to an internet cafe... Most internet cafes are unlikely to have NBA Live 08 instead of a newer NBA 2K. As I said "I can't understand why", does this sound judgemental?

G-Game do you play them consistently? Cause that's what I don't understand. I have Live 03 and 08 installed but I play them only for their rosters and the memories, not on a weekly basis.

I merely find these older games to appease my nostalgic desires, the games may be rather old and perhaps obsolete entirely for this generation of games; I still do crave that "old-school" type feeling, with the controls and the like though, that's probably what keeps me coming back. Despite the flaws, I just can't get enough of them sometimes.

I'd still recommend 06 or 2005 over 07 and 08, but then again I am still updating them all, for the moment.

If 2006 had the superstar/star controls of 07 it would be the best without doubt. A sudden urge to install Live 06 appears

For me, the ability to change FSS movesets on the fly is outweighed by 07's various fatigue and substitution issues; I'm also not a fan of what they were trying to do with the free throw shooting in 07 and 08.

I would like to see the following changes: Charlotte Bobcats back to Charlotte Hornets, and New Orleans Hornets to New Orleans Pelicans. Is this do-able?

We can change names in teams.dbf and edit the logo files, however we cannot edit the audio so they'll still be referred to as the Charlotte Bobcats and New Orleans Hornets.
