KENYON MARTIN (F)KEYS TO THE SEASON1) The evolution of Blake Griffin. There’s no question that Griffin is one of the most powerful and athletic players in game today. His dunks are already the stuff of legend, and his physical style of play is both effective for his team and aggravating for opposing players. If Griffin can extend the range on his jumper and be a better positional team defender, those things will do wonders for the Clippers’ chances to compete with the league’s elite.
2) Chauncey Billups playing alongside Chris Paul. The return of Billups should be a huge boost to the Clippers offensively. However, there is a little issue here, and that’s the fact that Billups likes to play with the ball in his hands. Paul is one of the game’s elite point guards, and he was the one most responsible for guiding the team’s explosive offense a season ago. Billups will need to slide into the two-guard role without kicking and screaming, and when he does have the ball, he’ll need to show patience instead of constantly looking to launch as many three-pointers as humanly possible.
3) Which Lamar Odom shows up? The reality show aspect of Odom’s persona worked out just fine for the Lakers, but that, along with some other much more serious family issues, eventually took their emotional toll on the mercurial one whose unique skill set makes his potential team contributions almost limitless. After a season where he essentially sat out in Dallas, we’ll see if Odom’s head is in the right place, and if he is able to get back into peak physical condition to be able to contribute as we all know he can. It was a calculated risk for the Clippers to bring him back, but one that’s really all upside.2013 PROJECTIONS:RECORD: 49-33
PLAYOFF SEED: No. 4-5
PLAYOFF RESULT: Could get to Western Conference Finals
A top-four seed in the Western Conference playoffs should be an attainable goal for this team, especially with the talent upgrade it was able to pull off this summer. But it won’t be easy or guaranteed, with teams like San Antonio, Denver, and Memphis right there in the mix behind the Lakers and Thunder juggernauts. A three-seed out West at best, a six-seed at worst.

LOS ANGELES -- Make it five in a row.
The Los Angeles Clippers dismantled the lowly Charlotte Bobcats Thursday night for their fifth straight win this season.
Chris Paul scored a game high 26 points and doled out 15 assists, and the Clippers improved to 4-0 to being their season.
Caron Butler and Blake Griffin chipped in 16 and 14 respectively for the Clippers, who rolled into Charlotte red-hot, notching wins over Golden State, Detroit, New York and Indiana. Now, they head off for major challenges at New Orleans and Utah.
"This can start something, so for us to get these two wins, we've got a little confidence going on the road, and we'll ride this confidence into New Orleans and try to get us another win," Butler said.
Paul followed his 24 point, 13 assist performance in a victory Saturday over Indiana by shooting 11 of 13 from the field, making a number of timely baskets in the fourth quarter that the Clippers ultimately needed to put the game on ice.
Kemba Walker capped a miserable shooting night after being benched in favour of Ramon Sessions early in the fourth quarter . He finished with 11 points on 4-of-24 shooting.
The Clippers will look to continue their hot streak when they welcome No.1 overall pick Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets to the Staples Center.

Igoudala to Opt-Out
Andre Igoudala has notified the Denver Nuggets that he will forego the final year of his contractDENVER -- The
Denver Nuggets apparently learned what seemed to be the inevitable on Tuesday morning:
Andre Igoudala might return to the team, but not under his current contract.
Igoudala was acquired by the Nuggets in the four-team Bynum-Howard blockbuster and looked quite poised to help the Nuggets to another playoff appearance, but nearly halfway through the season, Igoudala is averaging a career-low 12.4 points per game and the Nuggets sit three spots back of the final playoff spot in the West. Igoudala has a $15.90 million option for next season, but has apparently decided that he can make more money on the open market.
"I'm a free agent, so I'm excited about what's there moving forward," Igoudala said when asked about his future. "There will be a lot of teams out there with a lot of interest. I'll sit back when July rolls around and see what happens."
The Nuggets once again face a dilemma they are all too familiar with; trade away their superstar in hopes of netting a return, or risk him walking away.

WAIT!!! Are you going to sign Chauncey Billups because he doesn't have bird rights??
Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:28 am
Strong start so far.

Hopefully you build a win streak similar to the real life Clippers. I like the layout too; recaps are easy to read and concise, you let the player stats tell the story of the game. Will follow.

Enjoying this presentation

Man Bledsoe is rated nicely at 81! Are you planning on keeping him as insurance for if CP3 doesn't resign? You could move him for something pretty nice too I imagine.

Much appreciated
As for Bledsoe, I will exercise his team option at the end of the season, regardless if Chris Paul resigns or not. After that, he is unlikely to be moved until the following year. His contract is just too small at this point to bring in anyone of value without packaging him with several bench corps.

I had to trade Bledsoe, cause he was getting fed up about playing 20 minutes off the bench. Luckily was able to keep Paul and got a 75 rated rookie PG in the 2nd round to back him up.

I suppose this is something I must be weary off. I doubt I'd be able to get as lucky as you though. More likely than not, I'd package a couple of my guards in order to open some playing time for Bledsoe.
