Clippers, Lakers, Heat, and Rockets are the most exciting/interesting teams to watch this year.

Also this year it seemed like EVERY team improved... does anyone else get that? (except the Orlando Magic of course)

Damn that was pretty much the same as I thought when I saw it. Now he's out for the season. Too bad! At least Curry's legs seem to work... for now...

And even they won their first game out of the gate.

Could just seem that way because all the teams have been through a full training camp. This fact can not be underrated. Agree that there seems to be a lot more parity, but it's still early so we shall see.

Rodney Stuckey of the Pistons shot 1/23 FG in the first three games.

J-Rich is out with a sprained ankle. That means more minutes for Nick Young... makes me not want to watch the game tonight after his performance yesterday. Not like he was the only one who sucked, but still.

Should rename him to "Rodney Suckey"...

Anyone else surprised by how fresh Tim Duncan is looking. 22/10/3 blocks and some decent top 10 plays by the big fundamental. I mean, he was still a superb player the last seasons, but is looking even better right now.

You'd expect him to be slowing down a bit at this point, but he's kept himself in good shape, has had fairly good luck with injuries throughout his career and has the skill to adjust his game (which was never built on athleticism anyway) as he's gotten older. It's early days but this could be a bit of a renaissance season for him, after somewhat taking a back seat to Parker and Ginobili in recent years.

It's like TD is back in his early days with the Spurs. Most players at his age and position tend to slow down, but Duncan is still rocking! Don't be surprised if SAS ends up in the top 4 again.

Or finish with the best record in the West...

...and get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

This is a little late but Varejao in the season opener... 9 points, 23 rebounds and 9 assists.

If anyone was questioning the outside shooting touch for Dion Waiters, his three point shooting in the first four games has been 2-5, 1-2, 1-2 and 7-11 tonight against the Clippers. Not too shabby.

From what I've seen it doesn't seem like Waiters and Irving really compliment each other, but they both just do their own thing (like LeBron and Wade), and just end up with good games separately (Irving: 24 pts and 10 ast and Watiers: 28 pts in their win tonight at LAC).

I'd never expected the Cavs to win that one. For now the seem to be on the right track.
Also a great win by the shorthanded Wolves. Must be Shved's new haircut...
Biggest surprise to me still is the Knicks going 3-0 to start the season.

I guess they don't need Amare anymore. But of course trading him will be very hard.

Playing Melo at PF and bringing Amare off the bench has long been the "solution" everyone was trying to tell them.

Re: NBA Random Discussion 2012-13 Season

That could be a tough sell, though. Amar'e probably isn't going to be too keen on the idea and it's a lot of money to be paying a bench player, even a sixth man.

What a back breaking contract Amare' is. Has crippled the Knicks for the duration of his contract.

And a couple of the surprises for me has been Denver 0-3 and Drummond playing so few minutes at 17 a game. What are they trying to accomplish by not playing him more? It is not like they have a lot of significant wins they are going to accumulate by playing their veterans more than him so why not just let your lottery pick develop fast.

To be fair, the Knicks did it to themselves.

I thought the Nuggets would be better than they have been so far, too.

What's wrong with Rodney Stuckey? He's playing very poorly. I hope he picks it up soon. :shake:

Frank yanks Disposition Matrix the instant he does anything slightly wrong.

He's killing the team by playing Prince and the other dopes, the second and young units are tearing people up at times. Singler is a mad man, but then in come Stuckey and Prince...

Stuckey's still ma man. I think injury's been holding him back. When he becomes healthier, the Pistons will start winning some games. The team needs to feed him more balls in the meantime, to boost his confidence. Whether you like him or not, he's the only capable scorer on the team.

Just give the ball to Monroe and let him work.

Danny Granger is out for about three months. That's real bad news for the Pacers and their chances of finishing this season as a top 5 team in the east.

I've seen this joke come up in just about every NBA-related corner of the internet.
